And how many times have you fixed some part of your code and had it screw itself or something else up in the process, requiring yet another fix, ad infinitum?
Less things to process in theory makes for a more energy efficient software.... but exactly how much more energy efficient? You still have to spin the processor.
I guess the underlying problem is what to do about the apparent file sharing that the internet has given us.
Suing people won't stop piracy. Any amount of software to stop piracy will be circumvented/broken (see how long a piracy-catch in a Linux kernel will last before it gets cut and rebuilt).
This is one of those things that our tech is going to force us to change socially.... how/when/to what, I'm not sure.
Their definition of life is dependent on DNA, and that requires a certain size to work right.
Defining these may require a discovery of perhaps another way to have an instruction set. Maybe instead of a carbon chain, they have a certain arrangement of subatomic (or sub-subatomic?) particles/waves/strings that fulfill the same function.::shrug:: perhaps research here will show that stupidity is a disease.
They advertise it as "keystroke-for-keystroke" identical to the 83+.....
The guts of the TI-84+ Silver are identical to the TI-83+ Silver - They simply overclocked the processor even farther. Its just simply the same stuff underneath, but they have added a USB connection to it.::shrug:: For what its worth.
To make it more appealing, they have preloaded some new apps on to them - which can most easily and fluidly be put on a TI-83+ Silver or even a TI-83+ (Flash space providing).
Any geek with a soldering iron and a radio shack nearby can make their 83+'s spin fast enough to catch the 84's, no problem
But hey, it looks new! And its all shiny!
And consider the market: Most teachers and administrators do not know enough about these things to tell the difference... mostly they can see that they look all new and pretty, so they must be better technology.
The article mentioned that US citizens just may have a high enough tolerance to sex that just might rival the tolerance of Europeans.
Hmm. And how do they determine that? And what makes us so different from them? Do we have, like, USgov implants?
Whats really bothersome is that they are attacking what adults choose to do. If it involved minors, thats another issue altogether, but these are all adults. If they don't want to participate, then they simply don't. Its not like you're going to suffer by your neighbor's sex-life.
Excellent gameplay - and many a time can be played with lower-level players. The higher-level players are very kind and the overall community is very cooperative online, albeit relatively small at the moment (>300 players online at any one time)

Was/is hypercard available on the x86?
Already slashdotted by post #2?
Egads. Its late on a Friday night. I guess only people who have nowhere to be this weekend would be on slashdot.
oh wait....
Hrm.
Yeah, all those dogs in a RAID array... sure to run fast.
Or reliable.
Or some combination thereof.
Netscape 3 on the mac (around the era of OS 7.5 to 8.1) was the best thing ever.... it did everything, particularly the HTML editor.
Over on the x86 side, I tried a later verion of Netscape.... I wanted version three back.
Ethanol?
Sure, lets get some batteries that can be recharged by pouring your favorite vodka in.
Congress will love it.
Perhaps they meant 'clean' to mean 'pure'?

What if they are?
Does it have to have DNA to be alive?
This discovery might let us re-evaluate our definition of alive.

That would be quite interesting - to put up your computer to keep up with your online life after you die...
Imagine - we still need some more powerful chat bots, but thats getting better every year.
If it goes on long enough, when someone finds out that you're dead, you might get a spot on TV or something. (well, at least your family)
To their credit, though, the 'regular' 84+ only has 480k of flash instead of the 124k or so on the 83+, so as to boost the lowest common denominator
Old stuff, new wrapper.

True, but the part about people breaking the laws may change as new OS's allow much better enforcement than today...
That may also provide a major push to learning how to use Linux and to compile your own 'spyware' free kernel.
"Free" and "iTunes" are contradictory.
If its a company asset, why would you be able to get the musics free? It won't make them money, save for the possibility of it being advertisement.
Ironically, while we may not like it to be, this could be true.
You'll get 8 seconds if you slow down constantly
At least its not a 'how to' or a Suicide FAQ.
Hmm... Sounds like a whole company could be created around this whole thing: Suicide'R'us.
Only problem is that business keeps dropping off....
Either that or they don't have any repeat customers.
However, by the time your saying this, you probably only have a good thirty to 120 seconds to find it before you drown.
Sounds like a lot of fun....
Just wait till someone swaps the engine in it....
I wonder how fast that can go and still be "safe".
Underwater bike races! whee.

Wow... I wonder what the price tag will be.
If only I could afford it!
We all know the necessity of such a product.
I cant wait until some dude tries siphoning gas....
Yeah - good luck keeping those 16 year olds dry too.
