True story. I grew up in what was the communist, and totalitarian Romania. Back then there was a line for almost every non-domestic product someone could purchase from a store.
My grandmother would go and sit in line for products like oranges which were rarely available. People had a limit to how many they can buy each time they reached the counter. Once she'd buy her ration of oranges, she'd go back in line and get another round. It is weird but she actually liked that. She had a chair she would take with her exactly like in the Star Wars lines. The socializing there must have been very entertaining for her. Only problem was you had to be careful what you said in those lines because saying the wrong thing about the system might have landed you in jail. There were secret police "Securitate" members hanging out in the line. Not like they HAD to for the oranges but they liked catching people who were thinking by themselves.
Long story short, there should be a "special" theater where they only play the movie once a month and where people can camp and wait in the line over and over again. Maybe Lucas can rent out campgrounds. He turns everything in a scheme to make money anyways.
This whole rent free thing came out of the fact that they are desperate for customers who they turn down at the counter.
They live with the impression that they lend gold jewelry and not movies on 25 cents media. I went to a Blockbuster in my new area where I wanted to open a account. They asked for a credit card and I gave them a VISA debit card. They turned me down because they didn't want a card which has check card written on it. They wanted an actual credit which I didn't want to give them. Next I proceeded to down the road to Hollywood Video who didn't want a Credit Card and where I rented my movies ever since. This was about 2 years ago. I spend 5 to 10$ a week on movie rentals which Blockbuster could have gotten if they weren't so anal.
Google blah blah blah. Linux blah blah blah. Google blah blah blah? Blah Blah [wikipedia.org] Blah. Blah? Google Blah? Blah?
This story came from "oogling-others-against-google dept." WTF? Is there seriously nothing interesting out there anymore? What happened to all the geeks and nerds who build or run into cool stuff and talk about their experience?
ISP prices could be driven up because all the extra security requires extra processing.
It could also be argued that many people in Utah will protect themselves from the "evil" pr0n by having their hand held by the government and bandwidth needs are going to be reduced.
Attention to detail, resolution and customer service are the differences between 25$ and 90$ sunglasses. At 150$ you get a strong high resolution polarized lens. My reason for Oakley is not only that their glasses fit my face perfectly but because the actual Oakley company cares that their sunglasses will fit my face comfortably.

I wonder what changes they made to accommodate the loss of fuel if any. You might have noticed the chute deploying for slowing the plane down. That is something that shouldn't have been necessary. He planned of flying around over the crowd before landing.
This gets us one step closer to commercial space flight. This plane was designed by Burt Rutan who also designed SpaceShipOne.
PMs aren't managers, they're administrators. From what I've seen so far, they don't have technical skills, and they don't have people skills. They just facilitate projects by tracking where they are, comunicate to the team, and hold meetings.
I took a bunch of training on it and project managed a few projects who turned out to be useless. The only thing I feel I gained is that now I know how to put structure around my hard working and fully matrixed anus which has daily deliverables.
I should have pointed to references. I didn't expect to upset anyone. OS X has the Mach microkernel and the BSD source tree. For more info check OS X on Wikipedia.
I don't think I'm ready to use quantum computers but if someone would build a quantum entanglement NIC or networking device, it would be something anyone could use.
Lowered network latency at long distances would make a world of difference especially with thin-client applications.
FTA: Images from the High Resolution Stereo Camera on Mars Express show raft-like ground structures - dubbed "plates" - that look similar to ice formations near Earth's poles, according to an international team of scientists.
If it is indeed frozen H2O like in Antarctica, there is a possibility that it also contains liquid water within the ice. To the surprise of explorers, that was found in Antarctica.
I tried to find a link to that information but I couldn't find anything good. My source is this Antarctica documentary
I wonder what the temperature variation is on the Mars equator. Theoretically, how would that temperature variation affect a body of water of that size?

If you drive between Phoenix and San Diego it's likely that you will get stopped by border patrol.
The highway is close to the Mexican border.
You don't need to link to it because you can use keywords in your article that someone can search for (if they care enough).
If someone makes a word up in a blog and then you use it in the article about the blog, can it be considered a link?
Noone keeps you from submitting a funny and plausible April Fool's story. What are you waiting for?

Which one do you think will happen?
I thought and talked my lungs off about not needing an multi-functional OS ever since I've seen AT&T's VNC. Most people thought it was crazy.
.NET and Microsoft's sensory overload with junk are making me dizzy.
I'm happy to see that someone is doing something about getting that going.
At least I'm a whore to someone who can deliver me an orgasm not where I just get fucked.

F the trademark. Star Wars is a lot more. Star wars is the idea of a universal war. You can't copyright ideas.
They could release it in Mexico. It would join the Oakley knock-offs you find there. Only that real Oakleys are better then the knock-offs.
:)
Just because Lucas owns the copyright on Star Wars he shouldn't film knock-offs
Since when are the shows advertised with commercials?
It would be the best thing for Utah residents since China already invested in the necessary technology and know-how.
Hopefully that flightplan change won't invalidate their record.

The screen says: LOSS OF DATA
It seems like we slashdoted the GlobalFlyer into the Pacific.

BSD won't die anytime soon. OS X has BSD under the hood.

I believe you are referring to this.
No, this was different. They were actually diving in the ice block's "water caves".

Would current customers have to buy PGP again? I see the problem as a bug not an "old version" weakness.
Now every avid moviegoer in the world will know what it means.
:)
If you think this movie will cause this world to enter an age on enlightenment, earth will be destroyed right before April 29th
