From my observation, Asperger can make people pretty impulsive and violent for no reason. Not bat-shit crazy, just very impulsive and driven. That would mean that his mental condition could have led him to the massacre even if he rationalized his actions.
One thing for sure though, he did have a lot of pent up anger at his mother.
Really sad for those children, what did they have to do with anything? There is nothing that can be done for them anymore and none of the knee-jerk reactions our politicians are about to have for political gain will help this in any way.
"the average American family probably owns close to a quarter million dollars in assets (including their house)"
You must be one of the people that the quarter-millionaire advertising has gotten to. That was BS made up to get people to refinance their homes to take out solid invested money to spend on doodads like boats, race cars, trophy chicks with big fake boobs, over-priced McMansions made out of wood which are nothing more than more liabilities which just increase people's debt.
Yeah, the average American is probably half a million in debt by now but their doodads seem like assets to the outsiders.
Weed is probably the only true asset left because it can't be bought on credit.
Did you ever see how they "sign" the citations? They are printed signatures in low dpi meaning noone really reviews them on a case by case basis.
I got a ticket once and tried to dispute it based on the fake signature but the judge was as crooked as the cop who showed up in court because he admitted the case even though the fake printed signature should have invalidated the complaint to begin with.
Someone high up in position of authority is filling up their pockets and the pockets of their cronies with money from those shotgun-approach speeding tickets.
Meanwhile, those freeway speed cameras are gone as they were ruled illegal but I did not see a dime back and I still had to deal with my insurance rates going up because of the points.
I had really low expectations for these movies ever since I've seen the trailer and found out they will have 3 movies out of one book. Those expectations are now even lower. The soap opera effect is awful.
Apple mis-treating Chinese people isn't news. Why isn't anyone outraged about this corporation's behavior? They are the 1984 Big Brother they warned you about in their ads.
Some of them actually take the dollar coin. I had one from the post office and tried it in a Coke machine along with a couple of quarters and it didn't work, so I dropped it in a Pepsi machine, and bang, it worked. Conclusion: Coke hates freedom. (the coin has the statue of liberty on it)
What about a galaxy that could be seen in the complete opposite direction? Would the distance between the two galaxies be 26.6 billion years and longer than the age of the universe?
I don't see how we could be even close to the outer edge of the universe. Is the age of the universe relative to us also?
Being from Romania, I can assure you that Romania has a garbage problem. The only thing is that most of it is in the streets, parks, and anything that used to resemble "nature".
Sorry but It's the age of the video phone and Apple won the supremacy by integrating it into iOS. Even my 85 year old grandmother can use it on her iPad 2 and she never touched a computer and has a hard time with non-rotary phones.
Oh, and did you see how ugly Surface is? Microsoft has never been able to put something together that can win on looks because it's always been to cautious to not shake the boat too much on appearance. Apple has had many ugly products but at least they were pushing the envelope.
The vantage point of the take down using real black and white film is pretty awesome. The fact that he was arrested over it will only benefit him.
However, if the was in some completely backwards country he could have gotten shot over it. I was talking to a journalist who saw a guy head being blown up in front of him and he was convinced that the only reason he made it alive out of that situation was because he didn't have a camera on him.
Phoenix airport (sky harbor) was one of the first to use those scanners.
I hate them because they keep making me lift my hands up while not wearing a belt and unlike the rest of this state, my pants are not securely fastened by fat ass and gut.
That said, Mesa airlines will start flying for cheap to the bay area,.... which will actually have the opposite effect.
I had a dell laptop whose ssd hard drive died from a couple of drops of water because the chips were exposed without enclosure and its location was directly under the keys.
According to wikipedia it was created because of the fear that Soviet science was ahead of American science.
Since the enemy of the US now is highly religious with low scientific potential, our bar has been dropped to very low levels. The whole scientific purpose of space exploration has now been largely reduced to commercial viability.
I'm fine with people believing in God too. That doesn't prevent me from thinking that they lack intelligence and mental strength. Science never has the pretension of claiming belief but always just gives us theories which have a base in the physical (mathematical included) world.
I wonder what evolutionary trait creates people that accept belief as truth over scientific method and proven theories. Can it be the fact that people who didn't accept authoritarian belief ended up being stoned and burned over it?
What exactly sets the people who create these beliefs apart? Do they really believe that or do they just use it to their advantage?
Even Einstein turned into a buffoon once religion got to him. All his great theories and discoveries were done during his "atheist" phase. What genetic trait triggered his switch to belief over theory?

I always wondered why commercial airliners never use the technology to supplement in-cabin energy needs.
After-all they're always above the clouds.

Don't blame the fiscal cliff, it's Bing that will make Santa fall off the cliff.

Are you fucking kidding me? We sell our top of the line people killing machines to them.
We'd go broke.

Cover the pond and most algae problem disappears.
Or create Jurassic park, I guess that works too.
Right? This is slashdot. They had me at McAfee murdering things other than my Windows PCs.
No need to jump the dollar bill.

With a few exceptions, the reason most exist is because of a lot of greedy lawyers.

And where is the LTE version of the Surface?

Mesa isn't full of Rednecks. It's full of Mormons.
The increase in PE ratio due to their reduced earnings are ripe to be augmented by a cool product like the glasses they've been working on.

I'm so much more excited about those than anything Apple makes and that could really give Google the growth they need.

Wrong. Apple hired the GOP's marketing people who have proven again and again that they can make more than half of the country buy flawed products.
