Yes, some sites use Passport now, but soon, many many sites may be using it in combination with Hailstorm. This posses more problems as well. More users will be using it. They will have to use it more often. More data will be stored accessible with a Passport login.
Many people agree that this is the start of Microsoft's goal of "collecting a toll on every transaction on the internet". As others have suggested, upcoming versions of MS server software will make it easier and easier to use Passport when building web services. At the same time, they will make it harder not to use it... Adding more hoops to go through to set up something else... Like how they are removing Java from XP: one more hoop to to through to run Java.
As you can see, any security flaws in Passport could become a huge problem. Couple this with things like Sircam and CodeRed worm, and you have something that could drain bank accounts and do stock trades for you.
It no longer suggests that this will be "Wireless Linux" and now calls it just "Wireless OS"
The companies will jointly develop an open-source operating system, but Linux won't be part of the deal, Red Hat and 3G Lab plan to announce Tuesday. Instead, the companies will use Red Hat's eCos operating system, which is designed to work in smaller devices that don't have the computing horsepower Linux requires.
When they say "Wireless Linux" do they mean a version of Linux kernel for the wirless, or a Linux/like/ os for wireless? They mention that it would be part of eCos sources. eCos is RedHat's embedded os, which while being open source, is not linux. eCos does support "EL/IX Level I, a Linux compatibility interface", but while it adopt the name Linux ?
My friend in NY had the same problem.. When he tried to get DSL through telocity, his phone was disconnected and he didn't have anything for weeks. When he decided to go with Verizon, they switched him from fiber to copper and hooked him up with relatively little problems. I'd say that Verizon is just trying to make it tough for the competion.
Mod this up. It actually takes up more space with all the files. I do not think that this was the intent of the challenge. Hell, if you were allowed to not include the file names in the size, I could compress gigs and gigs of data down to a few hundred bytes!!! How? put the data in the file names, and have EMPTY files! My files would have looked like this:
SMIL stands for Synchronized Multimedia Integration Language. It is an XML based language. Its simple tag structure resembles HTML, but it allows you to create presentations which are composed of different media types including Real Video, Real Audio, RealText (new), RealPix (new), AVI, WAV, AU and other media types. It includes timeline features as well as wipes and animation.
There are also things that help with the generation of FLASH content like Swift Generator, which I have used and is quite fast, or various Perl modules for building them... maybe someone has put these together to create something like what you want?
You can do just that in creating your favorite comics page at WebComics.com. Yes, ok, this site is run by me, but if you haven't seen it, now is your chance.
We have been supporting netscape channels for both our top comics and our newest comics, and types of syndication for over 6 years, both inbound comics and out bound listings. We'd gladly support a comicsML that makes sense.
We've already seen that there are lots of issues with providing a viable living for online cartoonists. I don't know if this is the answer, or even part of the answer, but I'm all for taking a look.
My friends and I have used lots of X10.. and run into lots of problems. My friends house seems like it's haunted becuase lights go on and off for no reason! What a pain.
One high end alternative I've found is Radio RA, but I haven't get tried it. I think it's like 10 - 20 times more expensive then x10. Anyone else try this?
Here is the link: http://www.nycwireless.net/. There is a map of acess points and the meeting schedule.

Well, the legal "experts" on www.askme.com haven't even graduated from high school. I'd say this is a step up.

because most likely you get one hit in error log and one hit in access log.
That seems like there are quite a few little buggers running arround out there.
" Nearly one in 20 were found to have high levels of cocaine " ... that's less then 95%
99% number was class A drugs. Most where coke. not 99%.. read the fscking story.

Did you even read the page through? Granted, there aren't that many problems yet.
Time for the proxy authorization server!
