    So let me get this... 80 lines of code is what made Linux so popular? And the same 80 lines of code caused SCO profits to drop from about $200M/year to about $60M/year??

    Gimme a break, no one is going to believe that. As soon as they know what code is "dirty", if it even is, it is going to be removed.

    Why is it that every space agency is using RealPlayer? Just the other day ESA was broadcasting using RealPlayer and now NASA!

    This is exactly what the founding fathers were doing when they made sure that freedom of speech became a pillar of what made this country. That is what makes this country so great. (Yes, there were a few hiccups, but at least today we can protest against the government and not fear being killed).

    True, but instead you're labled unpatriotic if you protest against the Government. Or if it is a nother country that does not agree to what you are doing they are almost considered your enemy and might get some sort of import restrictions imposed.

    Ain't the US version of Democracy just great!

    Please note that the amazon rain forest is producing oxygen all year long, even when the northern hemisphere has winter. And when the amazon is producing less it is "winter" over there.

    Unlike the northern hemisphere, the amazon produces oxygen even when it is "cooler" there. To quote the article, you did read it and not just look at the pictures?

    "However, tropical forests are more productive over a full year because of their longer growing season."

    But these "New DRM-CD" (Digital Restricted Media - Compact Disc) really sucks for people like me that have a MP3 capable cd-player (a Sony...) in their car.

    I bought it so I could convert my CDs to MP3 and burn them to a CD-R (or -RW) saving me from having to carry 10+ CDs. Now most of the new CDs wont play on my computer. Not only that but now my original are bound to get scratched, a car is the worst nightmare for a CD.

    What do I do? I ask the guy at the store if I can have them in MP3, if not then I buy something else. Hint: the list is growing smaller and smaller day by day.

    My experience with older hardware; if it's a Pentium you can use it as a firewall. I have a Pentium 133MHz / 64Mb ram / 4Gb hard drive. There is no fan, not even in the power supply. It's _quiet_ and doesn't produce much heat thanks to a LARGE heat sink.

    I'm sure a 486 will do just as well. Btw. it's running IPCop (kernel 2.2.22).

    I just got an idea, it might involve a fine/arrest/punishment on the person who does it. But it could be the push for starting a conversation in the media and on important news channels:

    Start printing porn spam that you get and send it in an envelope to your senator/congressman or whoever is represententing you and send one to the media. It would be one way to try to get them to understand the problem. Put the porn letter in an envelope and put the envlope in a new envelope with an attachment that says that it could have been a child that opened the letter (warnt them that the envelope inside contains 21+ material). One would also need to state that this is going on daily on the internet and that children also receive these kind of SPAM e-mails.

    It could also backfire and make them demand more control over the internet...
