Mine is FDIC insured and is located in the US. Like I said, No BS. Do a little research on the best Online Banking and make sure the one you pick is legitimate. Read reviews of it and look at the website. My experience might not be indicative of all online banks.
1. Higher interest rates 2. Interest-bearing checking accounts 3. No fees ever 4. Free online billpay 5. ATM fee refunds (since they don't have their own ATMs) 6. Postage paid envelopes for deposits 7. 24/7 Customer Service with almost 0 hold time 8. No BS
I switched to an internet bank a long time ago and I'll never look back. But I'm not going to tell you what the bank is because I don't want it to turn into a "big bank". Go find your own.
I've found that Winter Wyman & Company has a very friendly staff who tries to look out for your best interests. I've had very positive experiences with them.
Mission: Thunderbolt was/is a great game. I fired up Classic yesterday to play it again, for old-times sake. But I realized, I only have version 1.0. Does anyone know where I can get version 1.0.6? Share your memories about Mission: Thunderbolt here. I'll never forget the Icky Lumps, Giant Tentacular Horrors, Two-Headed Radioactive Swamp Creatures, Snagglepusses, Floating Eyes, Needlenoses, Bug-Eyed Monsters, Many-Armed Things......
I'm so excited to announce that it's been exactly 26 years and 1 day TODAY! Can you believe it?
Hey, I loved the Apple ][ as much as anyone, but 26 years just isn't an important anniversary. Why are we talking about this? It's as if we forgot to celebrate this last year and we need to make up for it....
Although it's sad that we might not be allowed to launch a model rocket again, the real crime here is that our young/unborn children may never get the chance to do it. I have fond childhood memories of rocketry with my dad; I always hoped I could share the same thing with my child some day.
Then we won't have to sit through any more terrible commercials like 10-10-220 and the most heinous of all: Carrot-Top's 1-800-CALL-ATT ads. The Al Bundy ones sucked really badly too.
Not that it matters anymore since I just skip through all my commercials anyway with ReplayTV.:-)
After re-reading my last post, I should rephrase: CVS is the application I miss the most from my dot.com days. Drinking beer with the CEO in the office in shorts and t-shirts is what I miss the most from my dot.com daze.
Maybe in the past the "system" worked. Employers extended offers, people accepted, end of story. These days employers RESCIND offers which is probably the worst crime an employer can commit. But it happened to me- six months of thinking I had a job when I get out of school only to find out shortly before I was scheduled to start that the offer was rescinded. I even turned down other [better]offers during those six months. Here's my point: very few employers subscribe to the same set of values that they used to. Don't be nice to them because they're sure as hell not looking out for your best interest. If a better offer comes along while you're in the market, take it. Employers can get whoever they want in this economy; you're not hurting they're feelings if you take another offer. Ideally, once you verbally accept an offer, you shouldn't accept any other offers, but until things in the market settle, I'm pretty sure employers aren't going to follow the same rules. Do what you have to do to survive.
William Shatner: You know, before I answer any more questions there's something I wanted to say. Having received all your letters over the years, and I've spoken to many of you, and some of you have traveled... y'know... hundreds of miles to be here, I'd just like to say... GET A LIFE, will you people? I mean, for crying out loud, it's just a TV show! I mean, look at you, look at the way you're dressed! You've turned an enjoyable little job, that I did as a lark for a few years, into a COLOSSAL WASTE OF TIME!
[ a crowd of shocked and dismayed Trekkies.... ]
I mean, how old are you people? What have you done with yourselves?
[ to "Ears" ] You, you must be almost 30... have you ever kissed a girl?
[ "Ears" hangs his head ]
I didn't think so! There's a whole world out there! When I was your age, I didn't watch television! I LIVED! So... move out of your parent's basements! And get your own apartments and GROW THE HELL UP! I mean, it's just a TV show dammit, IT'S JUST A TV SHOW!
Charlie: Are- are you saying then that we should pay more attention to the movies?
William Shatner: NO!!! THAT'S NOT WHAT I'M SAYING AT ALL!!! HEY, YOU GUYS ARE... THE LAMEST BUNCH... I'VE NEVER SEEN... [ walks away from podium ] I can't believe these people... I mean, I really can't understand what's....
Tranquility can be either very relaxing or immensely frustrating depending on what kind of mood you're in when you begin playing, and to a lesser extent, which level you're at. You have to calm yourself down, dim the lights, turn up the soothing music, and get in "the zone" otherwise you'll be overshooting pads and hitting the floor non-stop. I bought the game to relax, but instead found that it forced me to relax otherwise I'd risk losing money on another game I'd quit playing because it was too hard! Everyone should try Tranquility anyway, just because it's so unique.
First of all, let me point out, I'm drunk and drinking and I'm just taking a time-out to respond to this incredibly stupid diary. Second, does anyone else find this guy to be incredibly lame? I mean, honestly, who takes the time to document in diary format your installations and experiences with an OS? Third, obviously OS TEN (yes, you better start saying the word "TEN" Zarf, because you could get beat up for saying "ex") is not perfect, but it is far better than anything else plus it's still in its infancy. Instead of spouting out that verbal diarrhea (get it? diary-a?), Barf should have taken the time to simply use the OS and get used to it. Every new OS has some learning required. Be happy with the fact that OS X has the shortest. Jeez. Ok, time to drink more.
Thanks for the info...my parents don't have Earthlink anyway since it's $50 compared to the $9 they pay for dial-up now. I think the price is what's holding up broadband the most.
Look into Earthlink DSL. My parents live in Delaware County, PA and I know it's available there. It's $50 a month but that's what I pay for Verizon DSL in Boston. (But I split the cost with roommates.)
All done thru the mail in postage-paid envelopes that they give you for free. In three years, they've never lost a deposit of mine.

If everyone sends him a little bit, we could help get his life back on track and show the RIAA they can't destroy him that easily.

I don't think storing my "important" files on other people's computers is such a good idea.I just remembered that 10-10-220 is probably just for home lines. But they really suck too. So there.

Exactly. CVS is what I miss the most from my dot.com days. In big bad corporate nastiness we use VSS. Sigh.
When you stop laughing, feel free to post a witty response!
Help! I'm stuck in a Wintel company and I can't get out.
