    Too bad if you're blind.... I was thinking of a simalar system, first time senders are sent a confirmation url they must open, and if it's not opened I get sent a mail saying email@dress tried to send you a message with a subject of 'subject', do you wish to discard, deliver, or deliver and whitelist?

    I've moved to a whitelist now.... I have Knoqueror toss all new cookies unless the site is in my allow list. If a site nnot in my whitelist needs cookies I can enable them for that session.

    Squid can also be set up as a transparent proxy, which is less intrusive to the users (ie, they don't even know it's there)

    I'd go nuts without both on a workstation. Many tasks are best left to a GUI, but the power and speed of a CLI is unmatched.

    SoftHome.net is good. Free webmail/pop3. They drop ads in your email account a few times a month, but if you use pop3 you can filter them. Check the quotas before signing up to make sure they won't kill you.

    I found this a while ago. This connects to your printer port and supports 5 zones. The electronic hardware is quite easy to build (I've built simmalar things). You could also modify it to provide home automation.

    My Armada V300 looks great at 800x600, and 640x480 besides it's native 1024x768. It has a hardware that does some interpolation to clean things up. Looks great....

    Non-geeks usualy are confused by the use of the term 'box' used to refer to computers. Boxen is used to make it clear that cardboard boxes are not the object of discussion. Geeks also like being diffrent.
