Easy way to do it: Splice the kb power line through a relay, then wire the relay to your joystick port. Anyone with the pinouts and soldering iorn can pull this off. All you have to do to log with this device is write some kind of logger to check the status of a joystick button. Really simple stuff. pinouts needed can be found here.

I can't post one because of the lameness filter. GRRRRRR......
I relive you're trying to be funny but I'm a paranoid bastard.
Here are point's of trouble for feds on my box.
1) I get email from them, and not running Windows, and having a client that doesn't display html and thus javascript the bugger withers and dies in/dev/null.
2) They install a hardware keylogger! I notice it later when plugging in my joystick. I melt and crush it.
3) They attempt to install a keyloging program. Screensaver password thwarts them.
4) They reboot my box to bypass screensaver, and meet a BIOS boot password. They bypass it.
5) They meet a LILO password prompt! They get a boot disk.
6) Oh DAMN thier boot disk doesn't support ReiserFS
7) They get a ReiserFS boot disk. Oh darn,/usr,/etc,/home,/lib,/sbin, and/bin are all on encrypted loopbacks.
8) Since I've started taking my keyboard to wokr after finding the keylogger they angrily give up on getting at my massive pr0n stash.
I personaly use a program called ricochet which traces the headers of my spam and sends off complaint letters auomaticly. I set up my mail program to invoke it upon the current message when I hit ctrl-j. This foes only take one second. I only bother threatening spamers that particulary annoy me. Damages for my time would be the time it takes me to donload the messages at 2400bps over my cellphone (well, it's plausable.....). It also causes me emotinal distress to have people telling me my penis is too small every other day.
A while ago I got an account at neopets.com (using a disposable email address) making sure to select the "don't send me any email" box, and after I was disgusted at thier birbery for clicking ads forgot about it. Then they spamed me. I sent them an email telling them they'd be billed for any further spam. Here's what they sent me (personal details deleted):
To Mr. [censored]:
The Legal Department is in receipt of your message regarding an
advertisement you allegedly received from NeoPets. We take all user
concerns-especially those in connection with member privacy and safety-very
seriously, and in this regard monitor the website around the clock for
inappropriate content.
To begin with, NeoPets unequivocally rejects your "purported" contract and
refuses to enter into any agreement with you. Your demands are neither
reasonable nor are they acceptable under any circumstance. As such, this
message should not be construed as an admission of liability or acquiescence
to your demands, but asv a complete rejection of your offer. Likewise, any
transmission you may receive from NeoPets is not an acceptance of your
agreement and may not be construed as an acceptance under any condition.
Moreover, by registering on the NeoPets.com website, you expressly agreed to
NeoPets' Terms and Conditions, which states that NeoPets may send
notifications and announcements to its users' e-mail addresses. Neither
NeoPets nor its sponsors send unsolicited e-mails and will only send e-mails
to users who have expressly requested, or consented to receive, such
correspondence and have provided an e-mail address destination. As such,
immediately upon the Legal Department's receipt of your message, we had
0rnrsegu001@sneakemail.com blocked from our system to ensure that you do not
receive any more unwanted e-mails. Additionally, we researched your e-mail
address in the NeoPets database and located the account "yottabyte," which
we immediately froze to prevent you from receiving any further unwanted
e-mail communications.
Unfortunately, we have no control over the sponsors our users register with,
and this is a matter that must be taken up with each sponsor that sends you
e-mails. As a practical matter, our sponsors are very responsive to
"unsubscribing" users who wish to be removed from e-mail databases. As a
courtesy, we will try to help remove your e-mail address from our sponsors'
systems, although we can make no guarantees as to the effectiveness of
preventing future unwanted e-mails. To do this, however, I will need you to
send a list of the sponsors from whom you are receiving unwanted e-mails.
Because NeoPets.com does not pass along user information to anyone, we do
not know where your e-mail address was registered and thus have no way to
automatically unsubscribe it.
Please contact us directly at legalDepartment@NeoPets.com if you have any
further questions or if this problem persists. We hope the foregoing has
addressed your concerns.
Sincerely,
The NeoPets Legal Team

I definatly did not register for any annoying ads.
I responded to this by telling them "whatever.... all further email to this address will bounce" then going to sneakemail.com and deactivating the address.
I'm sort of amused by this, I bet it cost them at least $100 to have thier lawyers tell me off.

I get my tv listings from tvguide.com with a perl script that you can obtain here. It puts it in a nice table, filters out channels you don't want, removes those damn ads, and even higlights your favorite programs.
It's for windows, but it runs fine with wine. I heard that it might crash if you configure it with it's gui, but if that happens you can just edit the config files with [insert fav editor here]. I haven't had any problems with it myself.
Thanks a lot. Any idea why the SDK isn't as good plain dictation (What I want to use it for most of the time)? Have you tried out dragon NaturalySpeaking, and if so do you think would it be worth paying another $100 for it and run it in wine or vmware?
You could try brute forcing the password somehow and hope that the luser that locked it didn't know anything about security and had a password = 6 chars.
I personaly have a laptop with a lockable HD, and I do have it locked, not because I have anything worth reading on it, but in case it's stolen to give the theif a headache, and possibly increase the likelyhood of getting it back if i should lose it (my bios displays my name and phone # at boot time and is password protected, but someone could erase the CMOS.)
For Windows: Get scramdisk.
For Linux: Unless your family can use a root disk, just make sure your files aren't world readable. You could also use encryped loopbacks if you are really worried.
Hell, I even saw one the other day that ya wore on your index finger and manipulated with your thumb (believe the button was like a trigger as well...good for the gamers:). If ya could type with it, it would be even better than having it integrated anyways.
I have one of those, it's ok, but moving the trackball while holding the right button is a major pain. It's nice for laid back web browsing, but for work, it's no better then the track pad.
I've noticed the same thing. Setting up the drivers on linux doesn't require a reboot (if you you already have the drivers avaible to the kernel) and IT CAN ACTUALY AUTOMATICLY REMOVE HARDWARE. Seriously, when I moved my NIC to a new slot, windows made me remove it then reinstall the driver, while linux just figured it out without so much as a warning.
Implement it so that the user must insert a heading tag thus having entered programming code. Also theres the (good) argument that the content is code too.
It plays a set of tones that matches the phone company's error signal. I found the proper frequencys to pull this off after searching google for a while. This should work if you put it at the begining of you awnsering machine message.

There is no ristriction on what .org domains are to be used for, but I think there used to be. Anyone feel like finding out?
