No, but you should get a masters degree anyway since it'll make it much easier to get your first job and it's actually "proof" of knowledge much more so than work experience. That said, you'll probably learn a whole lot more during your first two years working than the entire time studying.
I am seriously considering to hook up one of these USB Missile Launchers to our continuos integration server at work. When someone checks in code that doesn't compile or breaks tests the launcher targets the offending developer (using pre-determined login aiming mapping) and fires a couple of rounds at him. That'll certainly increase code quality!
I just tried and American iTunes Store is still not blocked in Europe at least. I somehow fail to see that I'm doing something criminal when I buy music and shows from American iTunes using "gift cards", instead of pirating the goods from a torrent site, which would have been the only viable alternative.

I think this is about to change, if it hasn't already. At my two recent jobs (software engineering/programming) it was fine to use Linux. Perhaps not encouraged, but perfectly fine if you could manage it. At my new job I'll get a MacBook Pro (with OS X obviously) when I start there.
I wonder if technology will actually deliver now. It's pointless to use Twitter or Jaiku on the move if it takes 10 seconds or more just to determine your position. Might not sound much, but it has to be very fast to be usable and the situation right now with current iPhone is not working with positioning over wifi or cell towers. One solution would be to let you quickly scribble something, put the phone in your pocket and let it "update" your message automatically with location info once it's available.
I guess it depends on how you define "be online". Many people in poor countries are starting to get mobile phones. They often can't afford to actually use them for dialing but can contact friends and relatives by just calling and hanging up before recipient picks up the phone. Now, if only they could 1) read and 2) got some money, then they could use the phones to check their mail or surf the we with mobile Opera.
Well, at least the swedish newspapers have exaggerated this tremendously in nothing else that can be called misleading. New sources (swedish) point out how parents "IT usage" is the least concern for children as measured in the survey. It only accounts for 5.5% and includes not only pornography surfing but also stuff like "parent restricts computer usage for child". The childrens largest concern in the survey is "love and fellowship" which accounts for 47%.
It should be noted that it is unknown if the ruling block is pressuring its members of parliament. The official statements are "everyone is free to vote after their conviction". Also, the law was actually first introduced by the previous ruling block (the lefties). That said, it's absolutely moronic and it seems like the parliament members are the only ones in Sweden in favour of the law. What the hell do we need politicians for again?
Choose another ISP than Comcast. Convince your friends, family and relatives to use something else. (you should of course also convince them to not use IE:) )
Students are often willing to do extra work and/or skip their diploma and head straight out to real life. They're used to working in teams and you might be able to find a bunch of students that have worked a lot together in the past.
I have tried this and it works very good! I had problems with crashes and connection problems using Skype but Gizmo seems to manage fine. Gizmo has a, in my opinion, better user interface.
Been using Gizmo while playing World of Warcraft since it supports unlimited (?) connections in group mode.
Interesting that they put an Apple TiBook, which is the most scratch-sensitive laptop ever. There's even special paint to cover the scratches. Now look at those straps (in the flash movie on their site). Will obviously cause scratches. Straps for laptops = bad, unless you got an ugly DELL with stickers all over it.
Thirty million registered users? Isn't that like 10 % of all (legal) windows copies out there? Or are they counting all MSN accounts (incl. hotmail) as "MSN Gaming Account". Heck, even I have a MSN account - from the time when Hotmail was untainted by Micro$oft. Haven't used it in years, but it still appears to be 'active'.

Like the damn message that comes up VERY TIME I wake a windoze laptop from sleep: "Hi! You're connected to your wireless network again. The same network as always, but I just wanted to remind you. The signal strenght is excellent. Click me, and I'll disappear. But be sure that I'll return the next time you start or wake your computer!"
I wonder how many suicides are directly related to windows error and/or informational messages.
