Go to the website, click on their How to Videos.. They make this clear before you buy the music. If I tell you before hand not to do something, and you do it anyways, is it my fault or yours?

No, it's your responsibility to make sure that software works on your computer before you buy something.. If I purchased non-synthetic oil for my Viper and thats all that I'm supposed to be using for it and poured it in and my car broke.. sorry, your problem.. not the oil maker.

What a bunch of whiners.. you should have RTFM before you downloaded your music. The link pointing to the bad technical support from buymusic talks about how her computer crashed everytime she tried to burn a cd because the plugin didnt work for her. Boohoo. Thats buymusic.com's fault? I don't think so..

I got hardcore into computers when I was in 6th grade. I couldn't write the whole cursive alphabet if my life depended on it. But to tell you the truth, I really don't see a problem with it. Cursive is hard to read, especially when a person changes it to fit their "personality". All forms require you to write in "Print" form. And if your writing something professional it might as well be printed off of the computer. The only place I see cursive losing is in personal letters back and forth.. But that's exactly what the point of email is, to rid ourselves of paying for stamps and having slow communication. This is not a bad thing!

  9. From a Mailblocks customer.. on MailBlocks sues Earthlink over Anti-Spam Tech · · Score: 0, Troll

I am very happy with Mailblocks' challenge-response system. Their webmail based system is blazing fast and just plain works well. I can drag and drop emails to different folders, etc. The account is also a regular IMAP account so you can just pop their settings into your regular email client. However, a couple of companies ( namely some online casino and 1-800 Flowers ) managed to get through the challenge-response. I have a hard time believing that someone from 1-800 Flowers waded through all of the bouncebacks and performed the challenge response. It's very possible but not likely.. So that sounds fishy to me. I hope they stick around, I really like the service. Having a really fast/cheap 50MB IMAP account that I can check from anywhere with a web browser is pretty slick.

  10. Re:Text of first link on MailBlocks sues Earthlink over Anti-Spam Tech · · Score: 2, Informative

The addresses that it talks about are disposable. Mailblocks.com calls them "trackers". For example - my email address at mailblocks.com is draino@mailblocks.com , but I can add and delete as many trackers as I want. For example a tracker would look like - draino+something1234@mailblocks.com . The only problem with this is that some places are unable to validate a "+" as a valid character for an email address. A great example is Ebay.. I have now lost access to my ebay account because it let me change my email address to that, but it won't let me login. It deciphers the "+" as a blank space..

Everything you purchase is recorded so the store can more accurately tell you what you want to buy through advertising. Check the back of your receipts when you check out, I doubt you will ever see one for dog or cat food if you have never purchased any items relating to a dog or cat. It's subtle now, but give it a year or two.. things will start to be more in your face.

I thought it was an excellent idea, and they had some great software too. Only took a few minutes of messing around to get it going. They also didn't *make* you charge anyone. You could be a free service provider and still use their software. They also had top-notch immediate support through a web-based chat system. Although there were not many provider's around ( only 3 in Arizona that I could see by their maps ) it was a neat idea. Maybe they could release the source ( if they haven't already? ) and this could be a great tool for free WISP's.

To summarize this post.. EBLUG had used Frontpage originally to design their website. Rick apparently didn't like this and called them a disgrace, basicly saying they shouldn't have a LUG because of this. I agree that it probably wasn't the brightest idea but they had to put up a page quickly and the guy didn't know HTML so he did it with Frontpage. Rick is GREAT with words, I don't know half of the big words he uses, if I did I would probably write a book. It's really hard to corner him because of this. I personally like this one - "neatly self-parodying. Commendably efficient of you." Keep in mind this was written a few years ago. Before the 2.4 kernel, etc. etc. So yes, I don't give a crap what you guys say Frontpage/Dreamweaver/Whatever beat the HELL out of any Linux-based webpage editor if your building a big site and not great at HTML.

We've had wireless access points in our stores for years. All of the guns the stores order with are wireless. Some stores have more Cisco equipment in them than a small ISP does. And the great thing about grocery chains is they don't go bankrupt like so many dotcoms have. It's like McDonald's disapearing, it's not going to happen.

The retail grocery industry is actually a very cool place to work to be involved in some new computer ideas. All day long I support wireless scanning guns (symbol/telxon) which have access point's that have to get rebooted frequently, etc. Although I would have to say I hate IBM 4690's.
