    You're right, I probably should have wriiten a long essay about how "U.S. fracking" --> "Iranian nuclear disarmament" is a wildly fanciful leap of logic, rather than simply pointing out that the two are at least two levels of indirection apart. The simple fact is that anyone making the argument is obviously astroturfing for the oil industry.

    It's a big deal to get upset about because it gives the flat-earthers and short-sighted "save money by shorting infrastructure" types an oppurtunity to grandstand about how [thing I don't get/agree with] is a "waste of taxpayer money". I've seen these types fighting against things like tide buoys and seismic and weather sensors (i.e. data collection for things they might not support - like not fouling the global commons) because they're a "waste of money". We need LESS politicizing of science funding, not MORE.

    I think you're the one with the lack of understanding. It's not on the phone for document creation, it's there so you can look at that attachment to your e-mail without running to a PC.
