I just had a look at your graph's, and it pretty much reflects what i've noticed.
Prior to early last year (june), i had a spamrate of 1%. I got on a spamlist about late august, and it's slowly gotten worse. The last 4-5 month's have been absolutely shit with approximately a 90% of my email now spam.
I rarely buy software, but this was a very worthy investment.
Now all they have to do to make me happy is to nuke wanadoo & that damned brazilian community IP space and i'll be home free!
on my ISP ( iinet ), the default is to have outbount port 25, inbound 80 & 13x blocked. You have what's called a "toolbox" where you can view your connection & billing stats, and under one of those options is the opportunity to unblock the ports to leave it for yourself to battle the spammers and virii.
Now i joined these guys long before this happened (they had the block in place before then unless you were a business customer on a fixed IP address), i wasn't happy with that, but aside from that minor inconvenience i liked it. Now it's just damned convenient.
But by that logic if someone is installing SP2 on XP they surely have some clue about system maintanence (my spelling sucks today, so shut up) and would be looking at things like an antovirus product, or even something like spybot/adaware?
Then again if someone has the release of XP with SP2, surely they are going to be marginally less vulnerable to being scanned (until their idiot owner clicks on a cutesey wutesey email and are 0wn3d)
Bah, i've only got 2 email addresses at my domain.
Anything sent to a diff to or cc address than either one of those gets binned immediately, no question about it.
It's sad, but it seems to save about 80% of my spam. a sidenote is once mistakenly put a bogus email address ONCE on a site using my domain. now i bleedingwell get about 20-50 spams to that email address a day. Those get binned at rule #1 on my mailfilter.
mate, don't just tell us, upload it somewhere and get that site slashdotted too. oh yeah, tell me before you get it slashdotted so i can actually get it too please.;-)
Regardless of the stats, the grandparent poster just makes me want to reach out and touch them...
With a shovel to the back of their head. Almost akin the the temporary citizen comments i get now and then. my usual response is either to seethe in anger or outright tell them to piss off.
Sounds good. I downloaded the 12 tracks, quite plesant to listen to from the 2.5 tracks i've listened to (currently on Serien:-) ). Hopefully it'll help while away the time while on this nightshift. T minus 4hrs 34 mins.
Bah, use an expired credit card, or for those of you not old enough for a credit card, use your library card. (in 1995 i had a bankbook, not a bank CARD!):-)
Bah, just keep a 5 lb hammer and a fistfull of 4 inch nails in your glovebox and randomly pull over and biff a few rfid enabled catseyes.
There is talk of mini camera catseyes being installed in the roads, i'd happily do a midnight run on a road or two taking out many-a-camera.
with the WIPO thing mentioned elsewhere and things like this it's little wonder society is fucked.
In a totally offtopic point, i just got a bounce message for an email as follows. WTF? since when did spamming fuckwits=terrorists? someone needs a 2x4 to the head!

If you think he has an obsession with hating all things Microsoft, why aren't you content to leave him in his little world, and just ignore him. Why not go walk away from the computer and go outside and observe something called "the real world".
For God sake there's surely has got to be better things you can do with your time.
I don't give a damned if there is a bit of trollbait danging above my head or not....
I'm genuinely suprised that fecking around within X.25 networks hasn;t been mentioned yet!
I hafta use these bastards at work on occasion, and i can tell you that having the capslock key is a godsend when you have to arse about with a device (in our case megapac's) and it doesn't understand a command if it isn't in uppercase.
But i find a few things about modern society disgusting (start rant)
1) meddling with other country's affairs more than needed to keep your own running smoothly
2) calling anyone a freaking terrorist, music terrorist, potential terrorist, social terrorist, political terrorist, idiot terrorist, sponsored terrorist. For feck sake they'll be calling those that break the water restrictions and wash their cars with a hose water terrorists next.
(calms down)
Sorry, im just disgusted in todays society, and einer, relax, i wasn't having a dig at you. You just reminded me of the tagging that i find so prevalent in society nowadays.
Yeah, well idiots in their roo shooters, blokes in their over-raised 4x4's and soccer mums (no Mom's to be seen here!)in their X5's are all the bloody same to me.
That is unless they actually have a use for their vehicles, like using it to tow a whoop ass big boat or they take it offroad or sumthink.
(Half the reason for the hatred for 'em is the stupidity they display, along with the fact i have a small car AND a motorbike.)
Ssecond of all he had a big shit eating grin on his face i could even see through my rear vision mirror, so i doubt the other possibilities. He was just being a twat, he wasnt even raising his arms or looking like he was yelling at me with hiw windows wound up either.;-)
hmm, sounds pretty fair to me. However the only things my missus wanted to change are things i knew i had to change. So slowly out went the torn jeans and fuckstick ugly checquered shirts. In came a sense of looking presentable i always had, just never gave a damned about using.
And incidentally i was engaged to the first girl as you stated above, i was mindfecked at the time, but i since learned. I know what i want, the girl that i happily call my other half knows what she wants. We are there for each other, we sit down and talk about things, we do things together. We have us time. Admittedly things are sometimes a bit too clingy for my liking, but they aren't that bad for the most part.:-).
Reading this thread has been a bit of a insight i must admit. I'm now pondering trying to get the missus out into the garage with me while i tinker on the motorbike, sure it may be a bit dull, but it could be potentially be interesting.
She could clear a space on the garage floor and start the mosaic she was itching to start on while i get grotty in oil and carbon.:-)
It's always interesting to get other peoples opinions on things, i guess that's why i get so absorbed in reading these ask-slashdot's.
My missus has "her time" being talking to her girlfriends on the phone or over MSN, or doing the occasional bit of arty stuff. My time = talking to my mates on the net or the phone, or riding my motorbike by myself or with said mates in a group on the bikes.:-).
I used to be a game freak, but as fun as it is, i've found physically tinkering with things to be far more fulfilling. That explains why my bike is half in peices in my garage at the moment.:-)

A lesson learned, where's my fecking shotgun?
Not to be a "me too"-er, but mee too!!!
I mean i've had jack of having to arse about with mailfilters and wasting time yes/no-ing my inbox (which is a f*@#ing pain to do).
This would just be plain neat and very useful...
That is if the ISP's actually gave a damned about your complaint.
Cheers for that.
:-)
Yet again whoring your website on here to recieve the slashdot effect proves to be the best load testing tool on the market.
mate, don't just tell us, upload it somewhere and get that site slashdotted too. oh yeah, tell me before you get it slashdotted so i can actually get it too please. ;-)
how about no.
;-)
I was thinking along the lines of a E10k
do a search for ghostrider or ghostrider 2, in divix it is about 700meg.
I've heard similar rumors, but they are just that until proven
damn, you fergot to mention :P ;-)
"May possibly not be worksafe"
Now i gotta get onto the proxy

Screw that, just go in and modify the timers in the source and you could have light speed bananas right there in 1995!!
:-)
Modify it equally in the opposite direction now and it might actually be playable today.
Bah i could run quake 1 on mine!
ok sure i had to down the res to 320x200 and have it at halfscreen with the extra rendering turned off. but it worked damnit!!!!
Bah, just keep a 5 lb hammer and a fistfull of 4 inch nails in your glovebox and randomly pull over and biff a few rfid enabled catseyes.

start kazaa, edonkey, winMX or whatever is your choosing, and look up "Jeff Foxworthy, Being a parent".

you will both piss yourself laughing and totally agree with the parent poster.
