    Another reason is probably that they have no leg to stand on in a real debate, so Darl is setting up the GPL as a strawman argument.

    Of course, he has no leg to stand on for that debate either.

    Actually, even though WinME was a steaming pile of shit, Win98SE was probably the best of the DOS based systems, and it really wasn't that bad for a 16/32 bit kluge.

    The reason we see so few file system drivers for windows is that it's blody hard :(

    Not to mention fscking expensive. The regular DDK is free (for NT/2K) or cost of media (for the XP/2K3 DDKs), but the IFS Kit is $1000 US. And not well documented, from what I understand.

    If anyone is going to try to write these for Windows, may I recommmend you check out OSR?

    I got pissed, because T-Mobile were able to transfer my wife's number (was on an AT&T Shared Digital plan), which was requested at the same time as mine. Mine got hung up, hers tranferred. After over a week, I said enough.

    In addition, one of the reasons we were switching was because of service holes (in L.A.!), and it turned out that T-Mobile had holes in the same area. So we returned the phones under the 14 day buyers remorse.

    Too bad, because T-Mobile actually had the best rates for the service level that I wanted.
