The articles states that you would get a 3 inch square sticker on the right side of the windshield. Ok, lets say I win one for the month of July.... and now its August, I still hae the sticker. Now you could argue to put a date on it, but I defy a cop to spot the date on a 3 inch square while the car is traveling 65 mph. I suppose you could color code, it, but even that has its limits. I see this as a potential problem.

YOu have to be careful about off the record. For example, in the Connie Chung instance, the mom told Connie Chung she thought Hilary Clinton was a bitch, but there was a camera man there.... So later Connie Chung "asks" the camera man if he knows how the mom feels about Hilary Clinton. He was never told anything off the record, and so he can tell Connie Chung. There are other shady ways that this can happen as well. I for one would be interested in know what the NYT actual, not the one they feed you, off the record policy is.

You are not allowed to use aluminum bats in professional baseball because there's a long tradition of using wood bats.

That is not the only reason. Aluminum bats make the ball go further, for they have a higher performance factor. Kinda like corking a bat gives the ball a little extra jump on it. Letting pros use aluminum bats would just be lethal. In fact there are many softball bats that are outlawed cause you can hit the damn thing too hard. Do a Google for the Miken II, its the latest to be going on the banned list.....

Maybe its not the greatest thing ever (I don't know, never seen one in person), but for a brand new product that is not a ripoff I think its doing pretty well. How great was MacOs 1.0 compared to OSX? Not very good at all, but its a starting point, the initial idea is out there, and basically it works. Now its time to expand and make it better.

Everyone is always ranting on here about how nothing is innovative anymore, and that all of these laws stifle innovation, and when something that is actually innovative finally comes out, here come the naysayers. I guess I should expect this from /. Personnaly, I am excited, but as an AC will undoubtedly tell me soon, who cares what I think.

Right and wrong. Why do they cut costs at the last minute? They are trying to pull in every dollar that they can. If a route is not selling, it is cut back, or just cut out period. Now they do not expect to sell out every single flight, but they do have a target percentage they want to hit.

In general they will not lower the prices once they have reached this quota, as the rest is profit, but that percentage is pretty high. Also, they never ower the prices on first class, either some rich person will buy it, or they let people with iar miles upgrade - that keeps them happy.

So yes, one empty seat is worth the risk, hell even 2, and so on, but you have to draw the line somewhere, or you will have 5 people on your flight.

You are assuming that thye sell out every flight with a bigger plane, empty seats cost money.
