It pretty much boils down in two ways of thinking about it. We, the computing community made the things that are GPL'ed, and we don't want it given away in we don't like. The recording industry isn't us, so we don't care what they want.
The other way to think about it is that when the GPL is violated, its by people out to make a profit. I seriously doubt anybody but the zelots would ccare if you violated the GPL, and distributed what you made as GNU. But when somebody violates music compyright, its for personal use, not for monetary gain.
Sure you can, the Chineese certainly do. But seriously, if you can actually get ahold of a senator on the phone, or in person, they typically will listen to about any view point presented by anyone, be it one of thier constituants or not. Remeber, most politicians are actually good people. They got into it to make the world (or at least some specific part of it) a better place. Nobody goes into civil service for the money.
Not to ask aa stupid question, but can anybody think of a reason at their point you'd need a petabyte file? Other than a databse of everyone on earth's DNA, or everywebcam in the world being saved to one file, I can't think of a sginel use.
Sorry, but you can't power one of those with soley mechanical parts. Needs an air source to actually fire. Anways, There's real no point in doing that with only 3 barels. That would take it down to 15 bps (balls per second), which can be done by quite a few of the higher end guns already. For lots less wieght, better mechanical advantage in carying (you'd need a back hoist to cary s 3 barrel around, since you have the wieght of the gun to begin with, plus the cycling motor, plus extra sized hopper.) Besides, its not designed to be fired constantly for 2 minuites. And if you did, tht why you'd reload it by dumping in a new case of paint.
Typically, we just call the hiding in the woods type rec ball. The best kind, mind you, but don't knock playing a quick game of speedball. Its just a differnt game. The values accuracy by volume, over hiding in the bushes.
The backspin also slows down the ball, so after the first 50 feet or so, you're significantly more likely to get a bounce.
On a related note, never, ever hook a up a flatline on a 98c with the rt installed. Eats paint like the newbie who thought I had a sack of "jawbreaker."
Well, every year at the big Long Island game, Doc uses his Angel from a helicopter. He just hoses down either team, and for obvious safety reasons, you can't shoot back at him.
Right, they bring it out at torney's, and the occasional big game. No, they aren't seeling it, and no, they don't Plan to. Its also not new, they've been bringing it out for years. Being an avid Paintballer, and President of UMCP's Paintball club, this thing is just one of the wiked cool toys out there. I can't buy a lot of the stuff the military makes, but its doesn't men I don't think its cool as hell.
Interesting thought. Quite a few of the problems with be under water should already have been adressed. You know, going into space and all, it better be water tight.
The best strategy is simply knowing what will work best within the confines of your game. The unbeatable starcraft strategy is simply to make mass numbers of archons. They hit everying, and aren't stopped by much except a emp pulse, and that never ever hits enough to stop as many as you send. This my not match real war strategy, but works quite wel in starcraft.
Since SlashDot is still "News for nerd, stuff that matters" supposedly, this falls into that category. They (we) aren't going to ignoring information just because it doesn't fall into our lovely little paradigm on how softerware should be free, yada yada yada. Not every "nerd" or person who cares about technical stuf is running linux. This isn't a linux specific site to begin with. I'm posting this off my wireless TiBook, whichre certainly falls under the nerd category.
But not everybody need expansion. WE've got a cube by our CIO's desk. He doesn't need expansion, he needs more desk space, and having something cool looking's nice also. Not every one needs raid cards and all the slots we love.

You don;t have abag to carry it in, so I wouldn;t really want my laptop there, realistically.

ing feed mechanism, and I think the AT series uses some sort of clip. For step beyond, you'll want a warp feed.
The jury is still out on wether rifling paintball barels really helps any, being spherical and all, but you can certianly buy barrels tht are rifled.

We're way ahead of you.

"With Open Source software at least you have the ability to read the source code."
Yeah, right. When was the last time you read the source code to something before you installed it?
Who bought it? It came free with one my IMacs!
Then you need to go watch either Mallrats or Total Recall again!

I just hope you don't have to feed your Audry blood to make it grow, like I did when I had one in my flower shop.
It'd be more useful to just have slashdot mirror all the pages we link to.

We had this when I was little. We called it mercury. Only this time, it won't make us like a the mad hatter.

Thats a 5.25" bay. You know, the size that cd and dvd drive get put into? Yeesh.
I'd say it has a fairly good chance of beating out the Apple cube, since Apple EOL'd that about 5 months ago.
Funny, I'd have sworn the bought all that stock back from MS a couple years ago.
Since its in pounds, its more like $25k
