    He never was. He was always against it. RMS is connected to Free Software, not to Open Source.

    China is not the only place that censorship is occuring. Here in the US, for example, links to Scientology have been edited out. Likewise, google makes mention of this.

    IIRC link was removed from Slashdot comment.

    Isn't it ironic? We are discussing censorship on Slashdot, we blame Google for being evil, but we forget that this website is being cenzored, without China, North Korea or Iran!

    I know at least two ways to trigger cenzorship on public forums:
    - put Muhammad picture
    - talk about Scientology
    of course there are many other ways (by doing illegal things), but these two are simple and working.

    My first computer was Atari 800XL.
    I started my programming on it. I learned Atari Basic, then Turbo Basic, tried Forth and assembler.
    For the first time ever I composed music on Chaos Music Composer.
    I've seen 3D graphics in games...
    I've played M.U.L.E. hours and hours.
    OMG I am starting to cry, time to take my pills... I mean to start emulator again ;)

    Google is also evil, just less.

    There is no free speech in this world - you can't talk about scientology (comment has been removed by Slashdot administrator), you can't make cartoons about Mohammed, Moses or any Christian saints, liberalism is dying.

    The only interesting game relased in 2005, and the only I bought in last year was Civilization IV.

    There is really nothing new in new FPSes, things planned for first Doom (like "not just hit ctrl to shot" or "monsters morphing") are still not implemented in any!

    So called "strategy games" (RTSes) are just clones of Dune 2 with new units and multiplayer modes.

    The Sims are nice idea (alife-like), they are popular, because girls can play them just like with dolls.

    Stop bitching on p2p and start working you dumb game designers.

    Seagate drives still have problems with the sata_sil kernel module. Some models just stop working after a week or two of use, requiring a reboot. Kernel bug #5047

    Oh shit, IBM too? WD is just a crap IIRC. No alternative to Seagate then?
    Prices of hard drives don't drop like CPU or video cards, should we expect even higher prices now?

    This is just unfair.
    I always liked Maxtor hard drives, they were rock stable, fast and silent.
    I remember problems with some Seagate drives in Linux few years ago (related to DMA, some strange messages in kernel logs).
    So I always tried to buy Fujitsu or Maxtor, and always tried to avoid Seagate.
    Fujitsu stopped making hard drives and Maxtor has just been eaten.
    What brand of hard drive should I choose in future? IBM?

    What about software for Minix?
    On website there is info about packages - gcc, vim/emacs, old Python, no ncurses, no X... What can I install (by compiling) on Minix and what is not possible and why?
