    There are question about Mac version and Linux version, I have another question - could you consider open engine source, so players would modify not just game rules but also system specific stuff, like fixing interface or video bugs?
    It would be probably first famous commercial game released with open source engine (Doom, Quake, etc.. are GPL, but years after first release).

    I disagree. You should care about open source even, if you are not going to change or read it. Open source means no spyware. Open source means - someone else may change it - so serious bug can be fixed next hour, no next month.

    I disagree, Opera is not Free Software - its source is closed. Why should I use closed source browser when I can use FireFox??!

    I've found that myself who is rail thin, can eat whatever I want, and am in my mid-twenties - sleeps all the time.

    I am very thin, can eat what I want and how much I want, and IMHO sleep is just a drug, overrated drug :)

    What the hell is wrong with you people?

    EA is Evil. SCO was not evil, it was just funny, EA is true evil and you don't want to see it. You are happy with their games so you think that everything is OK. Just like many people here use Microsoft software and are happy with it. Try to look from distance. Try to see what influence it has to whole market.

    The UI is non-intuitive, but once people use it they swear that it is better than every other 3d program available.

    And what do you mean by intuitive? Is 3D Max intuitive? Maybe "intuitive" means "similiar to Max"?

    Blender reminds me Vim. Both applications have "different" UI, but both are usable, and both are very important, so what's the problem?

    And yes, floating windows in Gimp are dumb. I agree with "top rated" comment - if you want to convience testers that this is "feature" instead listen opinions and try to fix problems - don't count on good feedback.

    I went to shop, bought Koolance kit number PC3-720, went home, installed it in my PC and you know what happened? Everything EXPLODED. Now I have no computer and must write this post from netcafe. Make sure you will never buy any Koolance product or your computer will explode like mine.

    1) Steam is bad, yes, but the shiny Half-life 2 box was so pretty I overcame my compunction.

    Microsoft is evil. Bill Gates is evil. I hate Windows. I hate Microsoft products. But my shiny PC is so pretty... I love new games, I love using that Internet thing I love writting these great letters in editor... so I use Windows, I use Microsoft Office, Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Internet Explorer and all these other Microsoft products and I am proud of it.

    The truth is - you just can't choose.

    Freenet is present? Show me anyone who is actually using it. Not just talking about it.
    This is not flame, I read about Freenet (years ago!), and really hoped that it will work, it will be popular and famous... problem is that after all that time it is still just "talking how great it could be" but not "using to share files".

    ...is Radeon on chip R200 (8500, 9000, 9100, 9200).

    I use Radeon 9100, and I can:
    - watch movies in mplayer (xv)
    - use framebuffer
    - play Doom3
    - use lots of other OpenGL apps (like Blender)
    - avoid any binary drivers (everything is open source)

    If your primary need is free software system, then R200 is best choice for you. If you are going to buy nVidia then stop talking crap how "free" you want to be.

    You can play Doom3 on fully Open Source system (without any binary drivers).

    All you need is:
    - Radeon with R200 chip (8500, 9000, 9100, etc)
    - latest DRI driver (from Mesa CVS)
    - S3TC library (you can find it with google)

    Just compile Mesa, copy file r200_dri.so to your X modules, make sure hardware acceleration is working, then... run Doom3 (with following env set):

    LD_PRELOAD=libGL.so.1 R200_NO_TCL=1 ./doom3

    (if you see no textures, make sure you have installed S3TC library!)

    I have it working on my computer. Please don't repeat that nVidia and binary drivers are required. It is not true.

    It is most pathetic moment ever when something interesting happen, then cell phone rings - "hi! how are you?". Even Microsoft Windows doesn't have so huge control over people as cell phones.

    And no, I never had any cell phone.

    Someone asked here "is there North Korea Linux Group". This is interesting question. I am active member of ORKUT. I was really suprised when someone from Iran added me as friend. I was even more suprised when I realized how many people from Iran are in Orkut. Country which is called "part of Axis of Evil" has Free Internet Access - greatest invention ever. What about North Korea? Nothing. There are no people from N.Korea in Internet. You can find official websites or information about N.Korea, but you can't concact with anyone. You can't talk with people from N.Korea. It is one big prison. Even Iran is heaven in compare to N.Korea.
