But not all piracy hurts. If you have a product that sells for $100 ea. and 10 people pirate it you would expect $1000 dollar losses and that is the general train of thought for most suits. However a study was done a while back (can't remember specifics) that found that some of the illegal download actually led to product sales. So that estimated $1000 dollar loss was more like only 6 or 7 hundred.
I also have a 5 minute commute. And yea, I could work at McDonalds but I doubt I would have the time to post shit on/. between the burger flipping. Here I kick back, read books and jump on shit when it breaks.
Turlock, Central Valley California. I make $11 and hour. about $1500 a month. Granted I work in an office of 17 people and the work isn't stressful so I am more than happy to trade money for a healthier heart.
See this is why i settle for lower paying IT jobs that require very little out of me. Hell, I spend most of my time looking busy and reading books on my phone. Granted I'm not making much over 40k, but i don't have kids or anything so it's fine. Sure there are always stressful moments like last week when the server power supply went out but all in all I think i have it good.
You use this test as an excuse to keep certain people in jail for political reasons.
Wrong. You use the results of this test to get funding which you then spend doing everything you missed out on in 4 years while you were tailing this people around town waiting for them to get arrested again.
For gun owners and people who are just pro gun in general this line of reason is nothing new. So you have an AR-15 that you use for sport, recreation, and other equally legal things. Too bad. Because this guy just used it to kill someone so we're talking about taking it away from you. You see this everywhere, not just with firearms but it's still my favorite example.
Of course Int and Wis are two different things. Your Int modifier gets applied to all your knowledge checks and it grants you more skill points. Just effects your Will Save and a few other skills like heal and listen...
I wholeheartedly agree. It's my honest opinion that twitter could have prevented the Holocaust. *sigh*
Really? As long as slashdot is dealing in hypotheticals can we get an article about "what if everyone had a mini cold fusion reactor to power their house?" or "what if America set up a teleportation network to cut down on traffic congestion?"
I have a 15 inch lenovo x60 that i acquired from a contract job back 5 years ago.At the time most my friends were rocking HP G60's and what not. They were confused as to why I even wanted the old laptop with its small screen space and lack of processing power.
Two years down the road when their graphics cards had started to go out and the ribbon cable connecting the screen wore through, my x60 was still going strong... till some jackass stole it out of my car. Anyway...
Laptops nowadays are being made lighter and all around crappier. No buts about it.
Just wait for the next round of consoles. You won't be able to buy disks for them, all the games will be download only, require online access all the time and no, you can't sell them. And all your movies and music will be streamed, and no, you can't keep them or transfer to other devices to watch/listen to them. But you will be allowed to buy install credits, 500cr at time for $100, but the games will be 510cr, so you have to buy two credit packs, and just like a strip joint, wont let you cash out the funny money for real dollars when you leave. And you cant get a refund if the game is crap or doesnt work as advertised.
And still people will flock to the new shiny, handing over all their consumer rights along with their money.
I haven't owned a console since the N64. I downloaded dolphin so I could turn my PC into a Wii to play Monster Hunter Tri and that's it. I pay for games on steam... when they are on sale for $5.99. I read the reviews so i know what to expect. If more people exercised patience a lot of this frustration could be avoided.
Draconian DRM actually incites me to pirate. Honestly, why would I pay for a game that has to be connected at all times in order to play a single player game when the cracked pirated copy that comes out a month later has a work around that, well, works?
Just cause you have $100k in cash doesn't mean your going to spend it in one place on one thing. Maybe you were going to Starbucks, then the Apple store, than a strip club. Anyway you slice it they don't have the right to confiscate it without a warrant.
Um yea.... The Jets most likely use Omni directional broadcasting... all a ground team has to do is use a directional receiver... one that has to be pointed a single to hear it.... and then you know where they are. You dont have to be able to understand the communications carried on a signal in order to find it.
I thought arcades died in the 80's. Only thing I've ever seen that resembles an arcade are those little nooks in malls and movie theaters. Even then the only thing i notice are those damn DDR machines with their flashing lights and techno music.
Actually you dont 'change' the MAC address, you merely mask it. The MAC is a hardwired chip on the network device. But I guess and idiot would try to change it.
Our lives are short and pointless when compared to the time line of the universe. Specialness is relative.

And dont get me started on birthdays! You were born on X date? So were 19,178,082 other people. Congrats on not being special.
I'd do admin work for that kind of pay, but there's no way you could get me to work at any kind of restaurant for that little... that's real work.
See? He gets it.

Ah, I see what you did there. Haha. And no.... the name of the place is PEBKAC.

Lets dedicate the first 8 rows to a S.W.A.T. team or teams.

Sorry... should have said "had".... I had an x60.

This happened almost 7 years ago
Bradley Manning translates as Wang. But in all seriousness his name is Wang. Really? It feels like the start to a joke.

But they can't ignore canon! It would make the movies really hard to watch for those who have taken the time to read the books.
