    I say bring in machines (with the appearance of humans) to replace the faculty members. This should have happened four years ago, but it's not too late to start working on the machines now. One hundred million megabytes should be more than suitable to function as a teacher.

    I think by "freezing" the poster meant lowering the CD's temperature below the glass transition temperature of the plastic.

    "Sic" means thusly, or so, etc. For example, a printing in the opinion section might have an odd or (not necessarily) misspelled word along with [sic] to indicated that that's the actual word the editor copied, and not a mistake.

    I'm pretty sure it doesn't stand for "spelling incorrect", although I've seen people use it that way when chatting online.
