Would you consider our ongoing injustices an internal matter or one that should be roundly discussed, with a final course dictated by the international community?
About one in ten employers will weigh heavily the school you attended without consideration for your grades and without giving you an interview. You don't want to work for any of those companies.
About one in a hundred will care at all what school you attended after you've been working in industry for 2 or more years. You really really don't want to work for any of them.
The top graduate schools will all care what school you attended unless you max out your GREs. If there is any chance you want to go to grad school consider that carefully, unless you are quite confident you are smart enough to max out the GREs.
Every so often people bring up this or that news site that posted a story before slashdot. Slashdot is not slashdot because it is fast with the news. Slashdot is slashdot because of the user audience.
its 1024X768.. or 800X600 It came from the ratio of the WXGA height in pixels to the XGA height in pixels. The use of the / rather than the X was supposed to make that clear.
W usually means widescreen: implying formatted for the display of HD content. Note that when you go from 1024x768 to 1280x800 you gain more in the width: 1280/1024 = 1.25 800/768 = 1.041
Usually a W format screen is 16:10 so that 16:9 HD can be displayed inside a window with a titlebar without any stretching.
I'm sorry, but these sorts of proceedings are all about increasing the number of crimes committed so that if you get caught you go down forever. If you withhold or destroy documents during discovery, than if you just say you don't have any such documents outside of court, and if you say that inside of court it becomes perjury. The whole point is to make it incredibly dangerous for the parties involved for the whole truth not to come out.
Her banking / financial information would indicate who she paid off to get access to information.
What does how she got the info matter as long as it was legal? And why would she pay for any info? There's plenty of free info out there.
Falcon Sure, but how does the opposing council know unless they subpoena records... I mean... she could just lie in court, and without records her perjury would basically be impossible to discover.
This is the worst of what our legal system allows. Now this woman is forced to hire an attorney just to defend her right to free speech. It makes me sick! This is not what she is doing. Her right to free speech is not being interfered with. In fact, what the lawyer in question seems to be seeking is the documentation on which her free speech is based, so if anything this might be closer to a press shield law issue.
If he honks he could be signaling an emergency, which handily overrides the no turn on red restriction. As far as I know that trumps the no right turn on red in every state. Contest it in court.
What if it happened 4999 years ago? I mean, sure, we may still not care if Bush manages to trigger another world war by nuking Iran, but what are the odds of that happening?
My dad was a computer nerd as well, so I was exposed from the age of 4, which was more unusual 29 years ago. We had a 300bps modem and I played hunt the wumpus on a machine for which the display was a printer.
The difference is the tax treatment, right? Lottery winnings are heavily taxed, while 401k winnings get preferential treatment when withdrawn past age (moving target).
Indeed... I'm 35, and rich enough to retire. I work because I want to work. That said, it is nice not to have to take a job I don't want, or to worry about pissing off the boss (or other wrong person) and getting fired, etc, etc, so maybe the point is that the 72 year old is working in a cubicle, and that this implies some sort of suckiness quality in the job.
These are all easy to deal with if you have centralized control of the network, you don't have to control the end points.
1) You design your processes so that important files are centralized. Don't make it possible to do 'work' locally. Backup is handled on the network. Now the user has, at best, deleted something that was important to them (not your business) locally.
2) Reimage. See #1 in terms of what the user loses.
3) See #1.
4) everything using mail protocols recorded on the network.
5) see 4.
6) reimage, reimage, reimage until the user learns. have virus checker in the image (I guess user can possibly uninstall, but if you have a user with this chronic problem, respond to them more and more slowly / report them).
Giving the user control over their pc doesn't mean the same thing as giving up centralized services.
Sorry, I should have been clearer. Certainly the worst possible outcome might be worse than the black hole earth. That's just the worst-possible-blackhole outcome.
But in the 80s, most scientists dismissed global warming.
And many are dismissing it today. Fortunately, it's just not the scientists any more. There is zero doubt left in the scientific community about whether or not the globe is warming.
In all fairness to the LHC people, the worst possible outcome is a blackhole that swallows the earth, not the solar system. It's not like there is magic mass available, to make the black-hole earth have more gravity than the earth does and pull in the rest of the solar system. It would just sit there orbiting the sun like the earth does now.

Please god please the latter.

And I want a billionaire to give me all of his money. Sadly for both of us, my odds of achieving that dream are better than yours.

I encourage everyone to learn the basics of English before deciding to become a grammar national socialist.

Just make right turn, u-turn, right turn at every intersection, problem solved, duh!

No worries, she's talented.
You might want to go to heaven regardless of the fun level if the alternative is unending infinite agony.
