You have the combined weight of 1,000's of years of history and practically every major world religion on one side and you have progressives on the other.
I know which side of that I want to be on. The side without the thousand years of religious wars, oppression, torture, and persecution. But I guess it's just a sad fact there are still people who like the other side.
I know that was just meant to be funny, but perhaps we should all get depressed instead over the news that once you pass 25 you can go to college and your brain won't change.
Well, without being able to read the detailed research:
They measured brain changes taking place in younger students but not older students. Their research is about physical brain maturity (the cessation of major brain developmental changes) and not about 'maturity' as the common public would understand the term. It is, however, related to that notion of maturity in the sense of asking this question: do you hold someone with a not-yet-fully developed brain fully responsible for their actions? We generally as a society have agreed that we do not hold two year old children responsible for their actions. By 8 years of age the societal disagreement is fuzzy, and at 18 it is concretely the other way. This research suggests that perhaps the age of full responsibility needs to be raised to 25.
Anyway, the point of my post is that there is basically no subjectivity in this research. It's about physical maturity, which has a rigorous definition.
The control group of older students suggests that college alone doesn't change your brain. It could still be the case that college + young changes your brain, but that doesn't really hurt the maturity claim.
Still, he should consider managed code for the portion of the application under his control, and use native invocation for access to the libraries he needs. Then he can more confidently/easily blame the libraries when things break.
Be sure to use flashblock too. And noscript is nice as well. I install those 3 things, and suddenly browsing is a nice experience. I wish noscript could be set to allow scripts for the originating site though, anyone know if that's possible (because if I could then I could install it for more novice users).

Yep, put those 3 things in a blender and you have yourself the magic drink that will keep you coding all night and fuel your 100 hour weeks for 2.5 years as you 'crunch' to get your game out on time. Ah I remember the days.
The key problem is that their stock is way overvalued in terms of ordinary stock price/earnings ratio. That's based on two things: market insanity, and rational belief that google will be able to deliver enough earnings to improve the ratio in the future. When google isn't delivering enough evidence that it will have massive earnings in the future, both camps sell.
Ok, having finished the article, I discover that indeed, one of their predictions is 'Google dead in 2020'. Looked to be the most rational sounding future to me.
I mean come on, does anyone believe they'll last another 9 years? They have basically no meaningful assets. A bunch of computers, some code, and an algorithm. They could be put out of business in a year by any of hundreds of software companies. Their stock dropped 1/5th of its value in a day when investors heard they fell below expectations on earnings!
Of course, the second step to wisdom is realizing that names only serve to categorize that which is truly unique, and that categorization is the first step towards prejudice.
Yes, there is still a good point in having such a shield, even if it has been beaten: it reduces your list of dangerous enemies to those who have the anti-shield technology. And it presumably adds cost to every missile even those enemies build, reducing the efficiency of their economy.
From the article you cited: Although McCarthy's activities did not result in any convictions or criminal prosecutions for espionage, intercepted Soviet communications from the now-declassified VENONA project, as well as the opening of Soviet Archives, indicate that some of the individuals he pursued were, in fact, Soviet spies or Communist sympathizers.
I'd hardly call that 100% correct. Sounds like he was correct in a few cases. But hey, shoot a shotgun into a crowd, you're bound to kill someone who committed some crime.
Actually, it's not even correct to say it. % of population infected in many african countries is >20%, with 8% overall. Among the north american population it's around 2%:
It's concentrated most heavily in the U.S. for the same reason AIDS is concentrated in Africa. Point of first outbreak. Over time, the obesity will continue to spread more and more heavily into other nations, until we find a cure.

Interesting, I wonder why it's not consistent. I use adblock and gmail works fine for me.

It fell 20% before recovering.
Well he did. But he pronounced it wrong.

Well sure, but we're starting from a position where we're already richer than any of our potential enemies. It's easier for us to afford the costs.
Of course, the second step to wisdom is realizing that names only serve to categorize that which is truly unique, and that categorization is the first step towards prejudice.

A law firm can't employ someone who is publicly advocating breaking the law.
I'm pretty sure they can if they want to. In other contexts, it might even make sense for them to do so.

Cute, hadn't seen that before.
Scary to think that it will probably be a practical product in 30 years.
Technically, this was only the threat of a SLAPP.
I skipped filing for three years and nothing happened to me.
