Okay, yeah, sure. Literally every bit of evidence shows it was the DNC, FB peeps, and the Russians who worked together to try to defeat Trump, but that's a nice distraction. After all they've got to try to salvage something from their collusion disaster.
This will certainly be interesting, that's for sure.
I'm not really sure how I feel about this. I personally think it's really not nearly as good as many seem to think, but it could be worked into something pretty good. A TV series is a better venue than a movie for sure, since it can be tweaked over time much more easily.
I also liked 2010 quite a bit...more action oriented, some answers to questions. Seemed to be quite a bit of a tech jump from 2001 to 2010 though internally, given that a mission would have started *building* on a 2010 spaceframe around 2005 or so.
Liked them both though. They're different movies aimed at different audiences catering to different times though.

Um, no. Because I live 5 miles back on a gravel road that rises 3000 feet from the highway to where I live. I use an SUV (used to have a pickup) to get back and forth because I kinda like getting back and forth.

....was due to both their personal unpreparedness and a continuingly decaying infrastructure, especially up in the upper Midwest and NE regions of the country.
They gotta start burying that stuff too; that would help a ton.

Actually, 75.8% of their citizens according to the last census self identify as white:

But don't let your uninformed racism change what you *believe* to be true....

...then that this didn't happen?

I certainly haven't heard anything about it since the initial reports.
Ferret
That seems a bit of an elitist attitude, isn't it?
Ferret
I can definitely see a market for this assuming costs can be controlled.
Ferret
Heh...I gotta agree.
Can't really see as I've noted anything as of this writing (Monday morning), but it's interesting they're attacking the US like this.

I do wish'em luck, to be sure.

Um...you DO know that Flint happened under OBAMA'S watch and his EPA chief...right?
Ferret
I'll let ya know.

A good movie, intended to be more philosophical.

Simple question, simple answer.

Nice links, but I don't see any real answers to the questions AC above asked....?

There would seem to be a simple solution to these troublesome CO2-spewing transpacific barges...buy them and sink them.

I am a scientist. I am *well* aware of the facts and the details. This is why I am intrigued, but not convinced.
It may be that you are more easily convinced than I. Each has their own bar for evidence.

Those numbers are at least testable, I'll give ya that.

Trying to taint the well...a typical Alarmist tactic.

Cites for all of that would be helpful....

Nah....they haven't compared Skeptics to Nazis yet. It might be deeper in the thread though, to be fair.

I like the idea overall; I presume you'd be okay with existing structures but if they get wiped out then that's it, no more?
I presume there will be compensation for the "takings" since the land can't be used anymore?

LEDs are pretty danged awesome tech, really. I think some folks *are* using less power overall due to light pollution concerns.
It's a good thing, to be sure.

The KNOWN universe......

Ad hominem fallacy.
Slashdot is better than that.

Yes Greenland is in fact gaining mass...it's wrong (and reflects the Slashdot bias against informed fact) to call you a troll sir.
