The administrator of DK-TLD has already implemented some security for the Danish registrants - You can't do a whois on.dk domains any more - You must use their website to get the information... Also you can contact them, and have them hide your email, snail mail address etc so you can actually be sort of anonymous.
The thing is truly a beautiful piece of work! I just hope for him that the light can be turned off;) Also it appears immensely big! I mean, build a cube out of 6 full size ATX mainboards - it's bigger than that! I couldn't fit that where my computer is now. And I'm pretty sure my girlfriend wouldn't let me if I could:) hehe
Professional skiiers use this to hone their skills and perfect their form! Newbies also uses this to learn how to ski... I know of some places in Holland (of all places) that they have this - It's like another post here says, it's a big rug you ski on, the instuctor is at the bottom directly in front of you, telling you what to do...:) Never tried it myself though. I don't plan to turn pro, but I do enjoy the occasional trip to France to ski the alps:)
It seems pretty strange to me since DVD is an acronym for Digital VersatileDisk...
Classifying it as film only goes against the very name of the medium:)
Versatile: adj.
1) Capable of doing many things competently.
2) Having varied uses or serving many functions.
SYNONYMS: All-around, many-sided, multifaceted, multifarious. These adjectives mean having many aspects, uses, or abilities.
But ok, reading the article makes it much clearer, and I fully agree - Just because the medium is digital doesn't make it software!
I read about that! It looked very interesting!
Supposedly you're supposed to be able to hook up all rooms in your house with one machine, for almost no money at all!
Oh, yeah and it's a gateway/router/firewall too! Pretty neat thought!
I read it on The Register last night:)
The article also states that the Xbox and the GC supports 4 controllers, while the PS2 only supports two.
This is not true. If you buy the Multitap (see here) you can play 1-5 players, buy one more and you can play 1-8 players!
I like my PS2, it's a shame that the games are so DAMN expensive!
Oh, and I agree, the article was one of the better I've read! Took a while to read it, but it was great!
Is the one I have now, the Psion Revo - Of course it's not linux, nor WinCE - It's EPOC - an OS made for small devices - The revo is the best I've EVER tried - I've had three palmtops, and I've tried the HP jornada handheld (too big) - the Revo is just right. The fact that it has a keyboard makes the difference (I know the HP has too, but the device is too bulky).
It's about 200 US$
If I need to do linux stuff on it, I just use VNC for EPOC (get it here (downloads - bottom).
Ok, the sync could be better, but you can't have it all.
The link is dead, here is another one (same one?) - But I don't take it seriously since Peter F. Hamilton isn't even on the list - His Nights Dawn Trilogy is simply amazing! It's among the best SF I've ever read!
Why are there more of these projects? I myself, am participating in this one, or rather this.
I used to run moo! (distributed.net) - then SETI@Home, then back to distributed.net. But now I am glad I found this one, makes me feel good to know that I could help cure cancer! I know a few people that could have used one:(
If you read the article (broken ad software - phpAdsNew by the way:) - they said it wasn't the best, but it was probably getting there...
How about utilizing the Peltier Effect - a.k.a. thermo electric cooling? =) Here is a little info here!
Granted, they use a lot of power - I've seen from around 50W to 200W...
Water cooling! I remember reading somewhere about Leufken - Gotta find a link... Just a sec...;) Here it is! - Leufken Technologies - They got both watercooling and thermoelectric cooling, regular fans and heatsinks:)
I myself is using a twin cooler (CoolTium) for my Athlon 900 - but it is SOOOOOOOOOO noisy!
There will be a beta out in the near future I've heard. IIRC they (delphi and c++builder) use the same backend compiler - so it shouldn't be too long:)

Hyper means overexcited - how about Underexcitethreading - Makes your PC with two CPU's think it only has one! :P Oh wait... That's like windows 98...
And then become depressed to find that the key most commonly used was backspace :P

That's not sci-fi!! That is HORROR ;)
LOL yeah you are right, I actually meant to write that!
=P
FIRST POST!!! :)
March 11th 1981 - It'll be 21 years old soon, wild!
EgoSys has two products that you could use for notebooks: WaMi Box, which is a PCMCIA, and Waveterminal U2A, which is supposedly very good.
You should also check out usb-audio.com!
I read about that! It looked very interesting! :)

Reminds me of George Carlin:
Near miss? It's not a near miss - it's a near HIT!
If it had hit the earth, it would have nearly missed...

Also, 640k should be enough for everyone.

Read them, they're The Reality Dysfunction (I want a hard cover of this one!) - The Neutronium Alchemist and The Naked God - They are AWESOME!
I'm currently reading his new book Fallen Dragon - and although it doesn't compare with the epic Night's Dawn trilogy, it's actually a very good book!
By the late Douglas Adams, may he RIP:
:(
I love deadlines - I love the whooshing noise they make as they go by
I still can't believe he's gone
While this may seem a strange move, it is a case of Security Through Obscurity ;)
With these two projects you can help find cures for diseases like Alzheimers, Mad Cow even cancer!
:)
http://members.ud.com/projects/cancer/
big project sponsored by university of oxford, NFCR and Intel
http://folding.stanford.edu/
Protein Folding@Home - basically the same, much smaller in scale though
I run the one from UD on my windows desktop, and I run the folding@home client on my linux box
Why are there more of these projects? I myself, am participating in this one, or rather this.

It'll be great to download some pr0n with it ;)
SuSE has incident based support - and free installation support. The incident based support is expensive. There is probably more on suse...
RedHat product portfolio shows lots of support packages, that probably cost a lot of money.
Mandrake is doing some support too, I'm sure you could talk them into doing a support deal.
I'm even sure you can get the guys at TurboLinux to give you a good deal too.
So next time you talk to an exec, say that
