  1. I've used it a bit on 3D Sphere Interface for XP · · Score: 3, Informative

I've used it a bit - It's really nice - Or rather promising!
I didn't use SphereXP for very long, as it wasn't very mature when I used it, but I found Spaces, which was pretty good - It's not exactly the same, but they both make use of our spacial memory - With spaces I could have 30+ windows open and have no problems at all navigating them ;)
The only problem is that they are "images" of the window, and hence does not update once they are out of focus.

Plus, none of them support multiple screens, as far as I can remember - I use a dual screen setup right now, but I would still *love* to have it ;)

I got interested in it after viewing demonstrations of Sun's Looking Glass (I think it's called) - now they updated in real time, but that was "built in"... Plus it was linux ;)

  2. In my amateur radio days on Ham Operator Sets New Miles-Per-Watt World Record · · Score: 3, Interesting

In my amateur radio days, I was a very popular conversation - I had a small 5W radio, and I built my own di-polar antenna, I was in Nuuk (capital of Greenland), and I had conversations with southern Brazil, Japan and others - I talked to a lot of people in the UK, and they had trouble believing that I was in Greenland - They said that it sounded like I was in their back yard with a 50W radio ;)
They were all VERY happy to receive my QSL-card ;)
Oh, if anyone remember me, I was 45SR101 ;)

It sounds like you could use a blog tool, such as PHP-based wordpress, be sure to check out the CVS-version, they have a nearly-finished 1.3 in there, much better than the current stable 1.2.2 version!
Also, writing small plugins for WP 1.3 is really easy!

    What? I can't have it? Why? :P

Thinking a bit about this, it should actually be trivial to make a plugin for Miranda-IM, or some other OS-product, hey even bitlbee could be extended (since that is designed to run on your server anyway)...

My laptop isn't the fastest in the world, but it's really snappy with Xfce 4 :)
The point is, the OS should "grow" with the machines. On linux you have different choices. I mean, I can run KDE and gnome apps with my Xfce setup and it's great and fast.
