over here it seems to be to write hugely complicated SQL code with lots of temp tables and then complain that it runs too slow
instead of writing some CTE's, views or anything else MS has come out with in the last 5 years to make code easier to read
or one time i had a view loving dev go view crazy. he had his team write dozens and dozens of views that called other views and mostly did simple things. kind of like C++, but in SQL. and then complained why the SQL job was running too slow. he had a few stored procedures call dozens of other procedures, that were made up of views calling other views, etc.
i see a lot of "elegant" SQL code that i end up fixing to make it simpler so it runs faster
Microsoft releases new versions of SQL Server every few years to make code simpler to read. and yet people still insist on "elegant" code that's a pain in the A$$ to figure out why its running so slow
in florida there are these things called hurricanes and thunderstorms. like the ones where the lightning hits the ground. hurricanes have winds up to 175 miles per hour for a day at a time
Moto was threatening to sue other android phone makers unless google coughed up the cash. that's why the former CEO left as soon as the sale completed.
in the end most of Moto's patents are FRAND. the kind where they declare them to different standards organizations and agree to tiny royalties for whoever asks the others are easy to get around
when i was a kid there were calls for the federal government to fund 50,000 extra cops nationwide to help control crime. people wanted to see cops constantly patrolling their neighborhoods.
what's the difference between that and installing cameras? these days i actually want cops to crack down on dangerous drivers
too bad the play store sucks compared to iOS for almost everything
educational apps for kids are better on ios games are better on ios tv and movies are a pain i the ass to download music selection is better on itunes my wife and i already have iphones which also control the apple tv which makes it easy to stream from computers without buying SAN's apple support is a lot better. if my ipad breaks i have 10 apple stores within an hour's distance. if my nexus breaks what do i do?
App store has lots of educational apps for reading, writing, math, colors, patterns, etc. my 5 year old can write full sentences. my 2 year old loves doing puzzles on the ipad
i was going to buy 2 ipad mini's this year and customize them for each kid, but now with all three consoles looking like crap i'll probably buy more ipads. its like the idiots running these companies make me give money to apple.
i guess its back to retro PC strategy gaming for me $499 i can buy another ipad and there some awesome games on iOS now
i was going to buy a new xbox to replace my old one, dump my PS3 which is only for blu ray and make my TV area look less cluttered. at $499 i'll just buy a blu ray player and dump the consoles

i love buying games the day of release with all the DRM, bugs, always connected to internet issues where they can't support all the players, etc
i'd rather buy a game a year or two after release after its on sale at least 50% off
samsung is patenting the page turn animation so they can sue amazon and apple
Let's see how you survive in an airtight chamber with pure oxygen
i got data flashing in front of me all the time. i know the news before anyone else. i'm so cool.
even for prepaid plans $50 in the US buys you unlimited minutes/SMS and a few GB of data
the unlimited minutes means to any carrier including land lines in the USA. i don't even have a home phone anymore because there is no reason to.
considering that every carrier here has unlimited minutes/SMS plans by default
these are mostly old games where the publisher is giving them away as advertising for a new upcoming game

here you go. products on the market look just like this
its a telescoping tripod sprinkler cart, google it. lots of them. don't know how novel this guy's invention was but the idea is not new
Lots of sites support using Facebook for authentication
So that's what I use instead of making up a fiftieth username password combo
So instead of downloading a pirated version of a book or the hobbit you can just wait 3 months for one of the library copies to become available
Artists have always made money by touring and the recordings have never given them much income
To raise our average bandwidth numbers
People with a good credit history?
you can on itunes
but its $1.99 or $2.99 per episode so you might as well pay for cable if the show is not on Hulu
no, it was extortion

all the new stuff like real racing 3 and dungeon hunter 4 run even on the ipad 2 and look good on it
