    I was level 3 a few years ago and i have read that netflix has developed their own CDN as well
    the content is inside most ISP's networks. Amazon is used for authentication and to store the viewing data

    Once I dump my ps3 I'm going to buy a blu ray player with amazon built in. What's the problem here? It works on windows and a variety of nix platforms.

    nope

    Active Directory, Exchange and their other software is pretty easy to set up. AD is nothing but a prepackaged LDAP database that is pretty much guaranteed to work. unlike making your own from scratch with open ldap and buying other exchange clones or other software.

    i've seen crap deployed by developers outside of IT input
    it gets put on the oldest and crappiest server just because that's a name they have known for years
    no backup gets done on the databases because IT has no idea they exist
    half the time there is no DR or any kind of redundancy in case of hardware failure

    and when it goes down they run to IT and scream how it's IT's responsibility to make it work

    gold be definition is deflationary
    there is a set amount of gold on earth. as the population increases there is less gold per person available. hence as population increases you will have deflation because there will be less and less money available per person.

    crappy support and updates
    crappy software. like a mail client with no push email to MS Exchange subfolders when every other android phone maker was doing it
