there were no drones in the 80's and 90's and the same people went from hijacking planes and cruise liners to blowing up sky scrapers in NYC and US Navy destroyers
actually it did. more gamers use OpenGL today then Direct X OpenGL was crap in the 90's but Apple, nvidia and a few others did the work to make it a viable gaming API
why spend money on your own API when someone will do the work for you?
if you are indoors you probably know where you are if you go into a tunnel, you will come out and get the signal again. and its not like you need to navitage inside a tunnel.
this is probably to defeat jamming. GPS signals are low power. Lightsquared showed that it won't take too much to jam them. kind of hard to launch cruise missiles into an enemy nation if they set up GPS jammers within their borders
i had a wii years ago and after setting these up out f curiosity i never used these services the GUI for anything but gaming is pretty limited by the controller
don't know about you but if i'm going to buy a home i want to see it. i want to touch the walls and go into the basement to check for mold and any problems that might come up. i want to see how much sun there is. i want to make sure the walls actually block some sound. but then again i have noticed that the more expensive something is, the scummier the sales process is.
the photos on the website are there so i don't waste my time visiting something i would never buy. this is why banks still require homes to be inspected
apple's problem now isn't design, its sourcing enough materials to be able to make enough products to fulfill demand. look at HTC. they designed a decent phone but can't seem to manufacture it to actually sell it in the store to people
i still can't figure out the point in spending $1500 on a pair of glasses when i don't even wear glasses

try driving across an enemy country with crappy roads and see how far you get without navigation

Pages on ios will NATIVELY export to PDF and MS Word if you ask it to. how hard can it be to support different formats?
there are dozens in the iOS app store. Pages is the closest thing to word and some are nothing more than text editors.
either way you don't need the entire MS Office on a mobile device. just a few features to use on the road or train
