I built meself an HTPC in an the Antec Overture case. Besides having 500GB of network storage, I've got an Satellite tuner card, HDTV Wonder soon, and ATI 9800 AIW card driving my 34" widescreen Sony WEGA at 1920x1080. Let's see a TiVO thinga-maboober do that sometime soon...

One place I worked the CEO had a 21" TFT (when they where still rather new) running at 800x600 because he was nearly blind. Still wonder how he drove that BMW around without killing himself or someone else...
The one thing that royally, totally, throughly and completely ticks me off about Linux is the driver situation. I just got in a nice 1U server using the Intel S875WP1 server motherboard. It has an Adaptec SATA RAID chip on-board. Intel provides a Red Hat 9.0 driver. Download and install the latest RH 9.0 kernel from RH and guess what? The kernel DOES NOT work with the driver. Nor does Fedora work this this driver. Microsoft Windows at least has drivers that work with every service pack of Win2K and/or WinXP. I could kick Linus from here to Mars and back for the half-ass, half-crock, half-baked cluster fubar that is Linux drivers.
FWIW, "Banias" is close enough to the Spanish word for baths...
At least they didn't name their next generation product after a big stinky animal that produces copious quantities of cow pies and methane - "Longhorn"...
Hmmm... Degrees and Education didn't stop the Execs at Enron, Worldcom, Tyco and others from fibbing and thus causing significant financial damage to many people...

Why doesn't ATI simply write some Mac OS X drivers for the HDTV Wonder...? After all, they know how to write video drivers - how hard could it be?
