Look at your sig... this is the 3rd day of said blackout.. and you're POSTING constructive comments to the story? I don't think this tactic is working out very well, sorry to say. I pity you.
If you really wanted to make an impact, you'd really need to get together way more users to boycott slashdot than what is going on now.
No, really, this isn't a false article. My dad is a dairy farm technician/dealer and he's known about these for a while.. they cost around $100,000-$200,000 apiece. One company that is working on trial products is this company: Boumatic, their robotics 'page' is here.
Hire Hossein Eslambolchi (guy from the article).. quote:
So it made perfect sense that he [Hossein Eslambolchi] would be tapped by his company for the special mission of rescuing the troubled network run by partner Excite@Home. In the year since that move, however, the high-speed Internet service has filed for bankruptcy, lost 4.1 million customers, and, by the time it is expected to close Thursday, will have seen its share of the consumer broadband market plummet from 45 percent to zero.
Boy... if those 9 states that didn't settle with Microsoft really want to break apart Microsoft, just hire this guy.. MS will lose 50 million customers (and 100 million pirates), and Linux's market share will go up to 95% (5% from BSD, which is still dying).. I wonder where all those hotmail emails will go though.. Linux users will rejoice though, until they find that they can't watch those re-runs of 9/11.wma files.
Maxis has announced its new MMORPG, 'SimCity Live!'. Rumors are that it was brought up from the ashes of the Sims multiplayer addon. Participants will be able to live out a day of the lives of their favorite politicans. Be the President of the USA and get a lollipop. Be the Mayor of New York City and be the hero of the day. Be the governor of Minnesota and body slam voters! Will says "This will bring the hard money into people's own homes!".
Seriously, public policy? games? No, I didn't think so.
Note, this is the *DIE* size

The Athlon chips i have are around 2-2.5 inches on a side, however, the die in the middle is quite small, i'd estimate it it be 200-250 square mm, so a 400+ square millimeter is huge, compared to that.
Anyone have any exact numbers for the chips? I didn't get a ruler out to measure it.

raisethefist.com is running out of current allocated bandwidth. In just two days we have used over 130MB of data transfer. The limit is 512MB per month. That means we will run out of bandwidth in less than a week. If we do, the site will be shut down indefinitely. We need to move to another web host in order to keep the site up and updated with official information for its visitors. If you would like to donate space, the e-mail contact information is on the bottom of this page.
I think it's a bad idea to link directly to his site.. We could end up costing him a lot of money in bandwidth terms.
This seems to affect Windows 98 and ME, not just Windows XP!! The Universal Plug-and-Play system has to be running though. Get the patches for those 3 OS'es and read up on the details here.
I looked both on Windows Update and poked around on microsoft's site, but I don't see any critical patch for XP at this time. Can anyone point it out for me?
I agree. The government has no powers to censor the Internet, nor should they even be thinking about doing it. The task will be impossible and don't we have a rating system already built in IE? (content advisor?)

How many people even use these ratings?
