    Those reactants would be CaO and water, forming Ca(OH)2. You push a buton on the bottom of the can, which punctures the membrane between the CaO and the water. Then you shake the can and ge waht yopu payed for: reheated cold coffee, tasting like... reheated cold coffee

    Indeed! Today my bus was so slow, it took me 40 minutes longer to get to work and boot up my computer. Next time, I'll ride a bike or something

    Think about it, who do you know that sleeps 8+ hours a day, other than the elderly and sick (both groups who at more likely to die than the average person)? However, the elderly do not often die young and have a better chance of achieving old age then an newborn child. And to answer your question: students tend to be healthy and sleep very late. At least, I did.

    Please call me as soon as your paper note pad can be synchronysed with my mail/schedual server and beeps when I have to do something.

    I do not need a palm sized computer, but an organiser that, er, organises. beeps me and then tells me what to do when, no matter where it got the info in the first place (secretary, PC schedual or Organiser agenda)

    You do not have to have a manufacturer who implements this as hardware. If you have a sufficient hardware platform, the software will be made to use it (KaZaA f.i.). So all you need is a bluetoothed PDA with some kind of "wake on ad-hoc LAN" and someone who has no moral objection to this kind of filesharing and is able to code the application. The "wake" could also be used for other, legal applications and could therefore be a feature on newer PDA's

    Once you look for it, it is everywhere!

    I just spotted an open source tomato. Inside are little seeds, that contain all the code to construct the tomato yourself. You can do this, but you have to include the little seeds yourself as well. You can even modify it, but the seeds will have to be modified also!

    The whole thing was produced by "Nature". It can be used in open source sandwiches, open source burgers etc. as well!

    I don't mind to much to pay for certain content on a handheld. If I know beforehand it will only work on that mobile device, or even only once, I can make a choice

    It's like going to see a movie: You know it will only be there once, at that time, in that theater for that price. If that's clear, nobody will ask to take a copy for use on any home theatre.

    I live in the Netherlands, have been to Amsterdam quite a few times:

    Once you are in the "right" neighbourhood, you do not need any GPS device any more.

    What I would like there is a device that tells me how to get away from all coffeeshops and brothels.

    Somehow, brothels and coffeeshops do not sound attractive to me at all. I've never even be tempted to smoke cannabis or even visit one of these places. Probably because there is no "thrill of the forbidden", so the thing itself would have to be attractive, which to me, it isn't.
