    Prove that 1 + 1 = 2... HA! I defy that 1 + 1 = 2, because you can't prove it!

Guess what? The whole world is based on axioms, and for me, one axiom in my life is "God exists." And that's what I stand by. I need no proof of his existance, because no evidence points either way, so I take it on personal faith that he exists.

The problem is that these are likely not supported by OSX, or OS9.

*shrug* It'd still be nice if the geeks of the world could build their own system, I for one don't need to pay a premium on the RAM or HD for my apple system, but when the top end PowerMac comes with a 80GB min. HD size, and 512 MB min RAM?

I have a 550 PowerBook, and I loved it when I first got it, and to be honest, I don't think I ever noticed how laggy OSX was. Now with Quartz Extreme, things just respond, and move quickly. In fact, things started moving so well, that I dumped Mozilla, because it's interface was lagging (because of the XUL defined interface)

Doing everything with PDF actually is a very good idea, and I'm glad that they have it hardware accelerated now. Scaling is much faster now, and everything.

But, as someone else pointed out. Linux, and X still seems to run faster, which is pretty ridiculous, considering that X is running through a socket, and is naturally indirect. *sigh*

Still, Apple's idea is to advance what you can do with a GUI, and I think this is a positive push forward, and I want to see Apple make things even better!

  5. Point of Insight on Jaguar Release Ahead of Schedule? · · Score: 1

When Apple moved to OSX, they did a big marketting campaign about "OSX, it's better, cause it has a higher number than 9" Of course Apple isn't going to release Jaguar as OS 11, because they haven't hyped it at all.

When OS11 is slated to come out, there'll be a MacWorld Expo announcing it to the world, and then we'll have to wait a long duration before we actually see it.

crypt() is defined to be the standard to encrypt passwords. What crypt() actually does is dependant on your system. If you want to use MD5 passwords, then crypt will generate MD5 passwords, otherwise, it'll just produce the default encrypt routine that every *nix has used for just about forever.

Claymore Mine is a mysnomer. It's detonated by a human controlled accuator, and thus, not a "mine" as defined by the treaty.

But as for using one on the Dragon Runner, unless you'd have a damned good reason (namely, you're going to die if you don't) they probably wouldn't look highly on it, because the claymore has a 16' backwash, that you need to watch out for. That means that it would literally destroy the Dragon Runner that it was mounted on.

The Dragon Runner will be used in reconicense (sp) missions, where the idea is to see something with a unit on the ground... I'd much prefer to roll a little shoe box in there rather than risk my hide on getting seen.
