It would seem that if bandwidth is an issue, why not offload the bandwidth to the users? Distributed networking and file sharing has been around for a while now, a service like youtube could benefit greatly with a customized version of it. Instead of having the users get the movies directly from the site, use a distributed system similar to or even built upon bittorrent.
It is patented, in fact its part of the same patent.
From the patent. http://patft.uspto.gov/netacgi/nph-Parser?Sect1=PT O2&Sect2=HITOFF&u=/netahtml/search-adv.htm&r=1&p=1 &f=G&l=50&d=ptxt&S1=7,024,381&OS=+7,024,381&RS=7,0 24,381 5. "Max Turns"
According to one embodiment, a "Max Turns" approach is used to rent items to customers. According to the "Max Turns" approach, up to a specified number of item exchanges may be performed during a specified period of time. For example, referring to FIG. 1, suppose that provider 104 agrees to rent items to customer 102 with a "Max Turns" limit of three items per month. This means that customer 102 may make up to three item exchanges per month. This approach may be implemented independent of the number of items that a customer may have rented at any given time under the "Max Out" approach. The approach is also independent of the particular item delivery criteria used.
According to one embodiment, the "Max Turns" approach is implemented in combination with the "Max Out" approach to rent items to customers. In this situation, up to a specified number of total items are simultaneously rented to customer 102 and up to a specified number of item exchanges may be made during a specified period of time. Thus, using the "Max Out" and the "Max Turns" approaches together essentially establishes a personal item inventory for customer 102 based upon the "Max Out" limit that may be periodically refreshed based upon the "Max Turns" limit selected.
Which brings up a point, since its obviously part of there business model, isn't it false advertising that they dont inform you of this.
Might I also point out that Morpheus is the Greek god of dreams. The phrase "Know Thyself" (Temet Nosce) is one of the Delphic Precepts, a motto of the Oracle at Delphi. Both movies are full of philosophical and religious hinting. Concepts are borrowed from Buddhism (There is no Spoon), Greek mythology, and Christianity (The messianic prophecy of "The One" who dies and is reborn). The Matrix is a story, philosophy is a method. The matrix isn't about philosophy its philosophical.
Earth's second one is called Cruithne. It was discovered in 1986 and it takes a convoluted horseshoe path around our planet as it is tossed about by the Earth's and the Moon's gravity.
Does asteroid 3753 Cruithne orbit the Earth like a moon or satellite? No. The asteroid's behaviour is more complicated than that: it doesn't orbit the Earth, but rather it shares the Earth's orbit. The relationship of a moon to its planet is called a two-body because there are only two important players (ie. the moon and the planet). However, in the case of Cruithne, the Earth and the asteroid both share the same orbit about the Sun, but are choreographed in such a away as to remain stable and avoid colliding with each other. This is called a three-body relationship as there are three main players: the Earth, the asteroid and the Sun.
Whats worse about that, is that if you called microsoft support after Win98 came out and asked about dual proc support, that would try to sell you a "patch" to make it support the second proc. The "Patch" was like $500. No idea what it actually was, but we got a kick out of it just the same.

Ok, ballast water. Did you actually read the article? it says the mass of black-colored water reached from 20 miles north of Marathon Key halfway to Naples. It stretched west almost 20 miles into the Gulf of Mexico
a quick guess looking at a map its about 90 miles from marathon to naples, puting the black water in a 35 mile stretch between marathon and naples, and 20 miles west. Just from this the water covers an area of 700 square miles. Also in the article it says that the black water is not just on the surface, but goes all the way to the bottom. But even if it dosent, lets say it only goes 15 feet deep, thats still about 2 cubic miles of water. I doubt even all the boats in southern florida have that much room in their hull.
One thing to keep in mind when you have a plastic case it the importance of good airflow. In any computer case there are areas of the machine in which air pockets occur, areas where hot air will just sit around. In a normal metal case these areas are usually in the corners, behind the MB, HD's and such. One side effect of a metal case is that the case itself acts a simple heat sink for these areas dissipating the hot spots a little bit. With the amount of heat today's high-end systems put out these hot spots can stay pretty warm over long periods of time, especially if your anything like me and you machine hasn't been off for more then the time it took to install a video card and some memory in the past year. Now in a metal case these spots are mostly harmless, metal can take the heat, however plastic when exposed to certain levels of heat for long periods of time, depending on the plastic, can start to discolor, or warp. So keep this in mind when you are designing the case. One thing I'm surprised we don't see more of is redirecting the airflow through you case much like an air-conditioning vent directs the airflow through a room. The fan that blows air into you case, on the edges of the fan put fins directing a little bit of the air towards the sides and corners of your case, it doesn't have to be much air, just enough to get it moving.
Although enjoyed reading the book, it wasn't the resource I thought it would be. I liked the insight and history of the slash evolution. However I bought this book as a reference for the site I'm running, and I have yet to refer back to it. When I have a problem with the site, the answer isn't in there. All in all I would have liked the book much better if it had a different title.
I would have to agree with you on this game. I loved playing starflight back in the day and recently downloaded it again to play. Starflight was the first game that actually captured me and kept me playing until I finished it.
Western digital used to ship out a "display" HD with a plastic cover. The drive they put in the case was fake, so we took it out and put in a real drive. The drive still works, its been running about 2 years now.
IBM's support on their laptops really only entails the hardware. If you have a problem the first thing they ask is "have you reimaged the laptop" If not then they really can't help you.
I prefer the A series. Even though I can probably count on my hand the amount of times I have used the floppy drive in the past year, I still like to have them both. If you're going for the lighter aspect, then the X series is the way to go.
You realize an ampere is based on a measurement of length, the meter. The meter like the gram is a measurement we made up. We would have to explain it as well as the gram. Here is a gram measure it. Here is a meter measure it.
Many of our measurements our based on "local" standards, and not universal standards. When communicating with other life forms its the concept you must convey and explain, the details are the easy part.
The late Dr. Dick Deslattes said something like, "If we ever have to communicate from afar with ET aliens, we could explain all our science standards in terms they would understand, but we'd have to throw them the mass standard to explain that."
Yeah, because an advanced species capable of space travel would never understand something so complex as to think of a standard measurement of a physical item that isn't affected by gravity.
Yea it'll work on the 64 bit chips, by reducing their functionality to that of a 32-bit chip. Much like how it now utilizes a 32-bit chip at the level of a 16-bit chip.
Dont get me wrong i love solaris, But there HCL for the intel platform sucks. I've tried to set up a machine at home with three difrent network cards with no luck. It seems the only card i could get to work is the expensive 3com.

Umm, Cruithne's orbit is a horseshoe around the SUN in Earths orbit. Not around Earth.
The following is taken from Near-Earth Asteroid 3753 Cruithne Frequently Asked Questions
