That's a bold statement to make. Care to back that up with numbers? I'm guessing this is based on your experience, and I'm guessing that you're a programmer. So I'm further guessing that the UIs you design suck. That's okay. Designing UIs should not be your job. Your job should be to write the backend. Stop doing UI. Get your company to hire somebody who has a clue about UI and knows how to run usability tests.

History has shown that lack of competition in the console market leads to stagnation. The leading console manufacturer is always the last to change console generations. Without the Genesis, there would not have been a SNES. Without the PS1, no N64. Without the Dreamcast, there would not have been a PS2. Without the 360, we'd still be waiting for a successor to the PS2.

If you spend so much time posting to Slashdot, why don't you at least try to create arguments that don't make you look like a stupid Sony Troll? I mean, you don't even look like you got paid by Sony, because if you got paid for that, I'd expect some better quality in your arguments and writing.

Look, if you want to defend the PS3, don't spout obvious lies like "The most powerful console by the largest margin in console history." Everybody can see that this is just plainly not true. You're making Sony users look like idiots.

Oh. Wait. That's your intention, right? You're actually owning a 360 and post these little rants to make Sony fanboys look bad?

but the big first party titles like Metroid are looking like crap.

Yeah, because Metroid: Prime is only about the third-highest rated game of all time, so the sequel surely must be crap.

Having played the GC and Wii Zeldas, I actually agree about Link's Awakening. I think it's the best in the series. Ironically, despite being on the GB, it also feels like one of the most mature Zeldas. Furthermore, in addition to not rescuing Zelda, another difference to the other Zeldas is that instead of saving the world you live int, your goal is actually destroying the world you live in - which is beautifully told during the storyline, becoming more and more obvious.

I'm not entirely sure you actually mean to say that usability is subjective. You're right when you say that different interfaces make different use cases simple. Actually, I think RPGs and FPS are two genres where the Wii can really shine.

Games like Elebits have shown that FPS mechanics can work exceptionally well on the Wii. I always hated the Gamepad FPS controls, but Elebits is a game I can enjoy. Aiming is very intuitive and quick. My brother seems to like CoD, and he prefers the Wii version above the PFS on the 360.

RPGs are games that aren't really depending on graphics, and they often have menus that can be used easily with the Wii remote. I'm not sure if there are any deep RPGs announced for the Wii, but I think the Wii would be perfect for RPGs.

I got my PS3 for car racers. I doubt the Wii will attract too many of them :-)

Yes, you're shooting cute little Pokémon thingies, but the game works really well, it's extremely responsive (unlike in Red Steel, I can't detect any lag from the pointer), and it shows that the Wii is a great console for FPS, even if the currently available games can't measure up.
