Ballmer would make up his mind. How can he say that Linux is the number one biggest threat after he dumps all of his Linux Apps? He's not making sense.
Did he really think that this statment would make him sound smart? Of course Linux is the number one threat but when it comes to your average home user, I don't think Linux a threat at all.
they could but we have a little thing called emmisions laws now. The cars also have to last because of warrenty issues and saftey.
you probably know as well as anyone that people will sue for the stupidest things now so the car manufacturers are more interested in putting a solid product into the market.
Leave it to Doge / Chrysler. They know what the people want and that's a realiable operating system and cool ass retro cars. Retro cars that are rear wheel driver (police applications) that snort large amounts of fuel and can wake babies up from four blocks away. Cars with over 300 hp and near 400 lbs of tourque. Cars that can blast through the quater mile at 14.1 secs. Whew!!
The only thing that turns me off cars like this, is that the first ones will be bought by computer illiterate yuppies that need something that's trendy, a la Plymouth Prowler. They don't care about the history behind the hemi, they just want the newest car available, preferrably the one that's been getting all that attention on the news.
B&M speakers, they are by far the best I have ever heard. As far as a DVD player, I would stick to Sony, they have proved themselves time and time again. They also offer some unique features to their products that always seems to leave the competition one step behind.
Everything is personal preference, and with only $1,500 your limited yourself financially as well.
Good luck, there is nothing more satisfying than a cold beer and a kick a$$ home theatre.
this hurting Gates at all. He has such a big piece of the market that other manufacturers are presured to do the same thing with their software and hardware as he does.
I do give him credit, one for being so rich and two for his total domination of the sheeple. I mean, what so they care about not being able to install another PC with the operating system. They are just happy that the nice people a the 'computer store' did it for them. If they can play solitare on this PC every Sunday for the next tens years, they're happy.
The best solution for me is to continue to use the free stuff.
no kidding.....after hackers I spent weeks trying to activate the sprinkler system in the office. There were just too many white blouses running around.
I'd like to be free to keep more than 50% of my income, without having it all go to taxes to support dubious socialist programs that I'll never make use of, because I *work* for a living.
Yeah, who makes use of health care anyway. And to have all those taxes going to provide safe streets, that's a crime in itself.
I'd like to be free not to have my government try to reduce my standard of living to that of the lowest common denominator. Just as we are proud to be able to punch our cards correctly.
I'd like to be free to say what I want - even though I probably wouldn't exercise that freedom - without the Canadian government telling me that what I say is obscene, unfair or
unjust, and therefore proving that I have freedom of speech to a point, similar to the way that China has freedom of speech to a point.
What a mouthful, who else wishes this guy's freedom of 'type' would get revoked.
I'd like to be free to drive on roads without jackasses talking on cellphones reversing on freeways because they've missed their exits.
Or being shot because you're driving a rental car (a la Florida), or for driving any car for that matter.
I'd like to be free to know that upon returning to Canada, the Canadian Customs agents will treat me as well as the friendly, chipper, informative, helpful and welcoming American Customs staff always do. Yeah, Customs staff from any country (except for the States) are notorious for being the most light-hearted people in the world.
I'd like to be free to live in a country where national unity is not a central issue to every political decision.
That's a disgrace!! Especially when there is war as a completely obvious alternative.
I'd like to be free to live in a country where I can pay for health care that doesn't leave me sitting in an emergency room for three hours waiting for a Keflex prescription for strepped throat, while homeless heroin-addicts with needles broken off in their arms come in after me, sit beside me, play show-and-tell with their pus, and then get served before I do, despite the fact that I'm a tax payer and they're not.
The nerve of those Canadians! Giving aware health care. Where do you think the drugs come from in the first place??
I'd like to be free to live in a land where what is played on TV and radio stations is based on market demands, not on CRTC 40% Canadian Content regulations, forcing
broadcasters to play the same really lame Tragically Hip songs and poorly lit Canadian TV shows over and over again.
I'm sure every Canadian wishes that the Canadian government would just roll over and allow the Americans to completely dominate our culture.
Most of all, I'd like to be free to go outside without fearing for my life for 5 months of the year. I don't define quality of living by habitating in a place where you can die simply from going outside without a jacket on.
the Canadian Government is working on the ability to control the weather. Such a solution could be used often in placed like Detroit because, like numerous American cities, are situated minutes from the Canadian border.
I'd like to be free to live in a land where the politicians don't waste millions of dollars trying to figure out why all of Canada's best, brightest and most talented are moving to the United States, while the problems are so obvious and mostly rectifiable.
I think it might have something to do with the money, I'm not sure. Perhaps Canada should order by law to pay their employees more, that'll keep 'em there.
And finally, I'd like to be free to post this comment without being moderated down by someone who simply disagrees with me; rather, I'd like to be moderated down if I've said anything untrue about Canada.
And here it comes......is he going to do it??? Yes, I believe he is........it's the sympathy card!!! He has played it!
National Bank of India needs young but experienced bank robbers to work as security guards. You will be required to transport and protect large sums of currency as well as securing the premises during night hours. Firearm and uniform provided. Only the most shifty of applicants will be considered. Apply in person.
More than 12,000 people were duped. Internet providers, including AOL, AT&T and Mindspring, were besieged by customer complaints and their systems were threatened by the overload.
The plea agreements require the men to reveal to the internet providers how they accomplished their scheme.
Here we go, everybody get ready for a constant battering of emails from large internet providers claiming faster service and lower rates. Thanks for adding another powerful weapon to the world of spamming
I think they should have been orderd to keep their mouths shut.
I have been friends with a variety of people (both ethnic and social) and I must say that geeks have the best sense of humours. We have the driest most sarcastic comments of anyone else on the earth.
We may not be treated as equals yet but I think the world realizes now that we can make their lives miserable. And isn't that what it's all about?
Why would you be surprised? He's male right? He doesn't have a girlfriend and he has four free hours a night. He also has the resouces of the internet or a custom pr()n mag.
I think the rest of the readers (along with myself) just assumed the obvious, OF COURSE!! Who hasn't?
Now then, does anyone have the link to the Pamela / Tommy Lee video??
some of the postings now and in the past refer to people being anti-social and nerds. I don't consider myself a nerd and never had. I had lots of friends in high school, played on various sports teams, made the honour role year after year and also developed an interest in business and computers.
I work in the computer industry and was just wondering......does one have to live, sleep and breath computers to make it big?
And is there such a thing nowadays as the stereotypicial nerd? What are they like now?
since money is out of the question, I think real estate is the next logical answer, then we could move on to jewlery. Good quality stuff, not cheap swamp land or glass that looks like diamonds.
Or, the company could hold a pep rally, shave the programmers initials in everyone's heads, or tatoos, some people would prefer a tatoo. Let it be their choice, after all, we're not picky.
I can't speak for everyone when I say that I look for the best bargain I can. Some times my decisions have adverse effects on certain people or groups but that's the way the world turns. It seems, now more than ever, people are voicing their concerns about how the internet or technology in general threatens to effect their income or lifestyle. Tough. I say adapt to it. Thousands of companies have done just that and continue to thrive.
If you or your company chooses not to adapt correctly then parish like the ones before.
Why should I pay more or go out of my way to put money in your pocket. I work just as hard as other people and I deserve the best deal.
is the most rediculous idea I've heard in a long time. Could you imagine how much person would be charged if they linked a story from yahoo or exite? Not to mention Microsoft! Oh the humanity.
I definetly think the representative from Gigalaw has a valid point but I must give credit to the people at iCopyright.com credit for coming up with the idea. Why not give credit where credit is due, they do have big companies like The Indianapolis Star as clients.
because nobody is irreplacable. Even though there may be hundreds of other IT jobs out there for a person with your experience, the company will not fall apart if/when you leave. The company will survive.
The best thing you could do is leave on good terms and use them to your advantage. As a reference. Continue to do good work and offer your assistance after you leave.
the American dream. I mean he's making alot of money, has no boss. There is the issue about breaking the law but that's just a minor detail. After all, the law is a grey area anyway.

The possibilities are endless.
Is there anyway we could arrange for that guy to fill out my Mastercard form?
While we're at it, he may as well teach me how to not max it every month.
