When someone joins the military they effectivly become a member of the federal government. An remember its a voluntary military, just because people signed up thinking they wouldn't go anywhere is no excuse. Hell by now a large amount of our military signed up post 9/11 and have no excuse to say they didn't know. Either way if there was a draft I would agree with your statement, but there isn't these people left their states voluntarily.
Well there are many peope who truly believe that Welfare simply exist to keep the minority in check and under the governments thumb. I think it does have this effect, but doupt it to be the purpose.
Yes, and they suffer battery life problems. Add a high speed processor, and a color screen to that, and your asking for trouble. Cartrages use a lot less power and are just as hard if not harder to pirate as specialised disk.
Searched high and low only thing Perot did around 1986 was resign his position at GM. He did openly critize Bush Sr. though for failing to look for POWs.
Well seeing as there was a third party debate on CSPAN rtsp://video.c-span.org/project/c04/c04090604_thir d.rm It appears they are trying. I'm sure they even tried to get it on prime time, but the cost of prime time air is outragously high. Though shouldn't they get it simply on "equal time" rules for elections. Honestly I'm not sure about this.
Btw watch the video its very interesting, personally I'd vote for Badnarik, but I'm kinda worried about the extremist in the libertarian party and weither he is one or not its hard to know.
If I can find a transcript I'll post it, but basically this "News" about O'Reilly calling the Daily Show viewers stoners is way out of context. O'Reilly was interviewing Jon Steward, and they were Steward and Bill were joking about competing for the same time slot, and both basically agreed that Jon had the college/stoner crowd while O'Reilly had the older folks thus no competition.
Thats not true, accountants lobby heavily to get certain laws pass. Either way some congresscitters support laws that regulate and hinder the IT industry adversly, while some support laws in the other direct. It is an issue.
We have all the technology and means available to us right now to end world hunger,
Agreed
and to create a fair justice system.
Fair or perfect? Fair being everyone is treated equally is possible, of course that would require changing many mindsets. Perfect, meaning never jail innocents or let criminols go free is another story.
Oh what does it matter one criminal looks like the next! HAHA sorry I don't really believe this, but as my previous post was marked as troll, I couldn't resist. Personally I think the troll moderation simply encourages trolling, its a mark some people try to get.
Sure they are still recruiting, maybe they have to stretch the truth a bit though. My wife works with a girl who is about to start boot-camp, then put as a nurse on front-lines. She swears that her recruiter told her that bootcamp will be easy, and so will her service. This girl genuinly thinks shes going for a vacation, I mean she cries and whines when asked to do things at work. Defaintly in for a real shock.
Well of course, our military is defined well trained soldiers. How bout a seperate draft military. Operation Human Shield.
But seriously, you could mandate some service, and let the person choose. The people who want to serve in the military can serve in the military the people who want to help build infrastructure or something else silly, let them do that. Though I say basic training should be same for all!
BTW I'm not for the draft, though different citizenship rights for vets ain't such a bad idea:)
The waiting list was for the spots who would not be sent to Vietnam. Pilots in Guard had a good chance of going to Vietnam thus there was no waiting list.
Actually I take that back, that is the senate bill. Which is much more comprehinsive. It appears that the house bill is very simple and just disallows installing without notice.

It uses disk?? It uses disk???? HAHAHHAHA oh man, what were they thinking.
Your right, but my main point was that it was all extremly light hearted. You'd have to have seen it.

No 100km is the boundary where wings stop working.
Umm its a clock radio....
Yes, but the article is 5 pages long. Do you really expect the average slashdotter to get through the first 2 paragraphs.
Hey is an OB GYN sneezed in me, I'd sue too :)

Yea quarter mile time. 9 seconds is very tough, means the car is pulling let see. 1/4 mile = 402.336 meters.
D=F*t^2
402.336=F*81
4.96711 m/s^2
This is about a half a G..... Umm something seems wrong, can somebody correct my calculations?

Great, but first we need to fix our judicial system so that we can actually punish criminals.

I think he meant don't worry about being called up for draft. Its not going to happen, atleast under his watch.

Na, didn't you know Ross Perot was paid by Clinton to help him win the Election. When things looked like he might actually win, he backed out.
Tin Foil hat embedded in skull.
This is exploiting the compression algorithm for JPG I believe though, nothing to do with the actual image per say.
