    one problem with that is that all of the sony PS1 games are entire CD images (500-600 mb)

    Even if true I'm sure sony could rework the images to the ones they have the source to and make them much smaller. I'm assuming the fill the entire cd thing is a DRM trick??

    Yes, BUT if my private island is limited to 50 users at the same time that sucks. Question is can I pay for a higher end server to handle more users???

    Just curious, lets say I am one of those ventures that buys large amounts of land in SL. Can I pay extra for a expensive server to run my land so that I can support hundreds on my 16-acre??

    -Have (unconfirmed, someone check) reserved 80% of the bandwidth in their fiber for their own TV service Ummm that coax cable that runs into your house serving you calbe internet does the exact same thing. I don't see whats the problem with running fiber TV service with internet piggybacking. So as long as the actual internet connection is open.

    I used to love taking a "solved" cube and moving the sides in a very ordered pattern till it looked random. I would then repeat the pattern in the opposite direction and amaze people.. (Actually people were rarly amazed as they would see me follow a distint pattern.)

    The Nextel phones with the "walkie-talkie" system will switch to peer-to-peer when out of range from a tower. This is why they are extremly popular with companies as a group can be out on the field and maintain communication. Apparently the some of their phones will work for several miles this way.

    Of course then they become a government mouthpiece. Currently they have government grants but they do have to get sponsorship to pay their bills. But being owned by the government wouldn't make them any more hardhitting...

    Most VOIP providers offer a POTS conversion kit. Its all pretty simple really, the early versions had problems with data connections like this but apparently those problems have been fixed (atleast according to their customer support)

    Actually whats interesting is if you read the opinion http://www.supremecourtus.gov/opinions/05pdf/04-47 3.pdf you would see that more importantly they are seperating job related communications from whistleblower communications. Meaning if in our official capacity you regularly sent notices of the "official" opinion of your office, in which one day in it you added your personal opinion you could be fired. Versus, you using your off the clock time to send a whisleblower announcemnet concerning your personal opinions.

    Exactly. Even more importantly don't let your domain name hamstring you. Most people nowadays use google for find websites, they rarly type them by hand anymore. So, offer these guy $100 (hell I payed almost that much from a registrar 10 years back) get a domain name that is close to this use it, get your google rank up and don't ever expect to get this name and these guys will eventually crawl back to you.

    Oh No.. How is sony now supposed to install their secret rootkit DRM into your computer now if it has to ask permissions??! /The correct answer of course is that Vista will come with this DRM already installed.

    Simple, they arn't paying the networks anything for this. Technically this is the difference between you recording a show and watching it later, and recording a show and posting it on bittorrent.

    I believe from the Voyager I expedition that Voyager I detected and eventually cross the heliosphere where it was detected a year later. So the idea that the size stayed steady during the time then quickly switched sizes as Voyager II approached is unlikly... Unless the excape of Voyager I has upset the Gods... Then we are all doomed!

    Did you even read the pledge to buy one page??

    It specifically stated that it was not associated with the MIT project and that infact that MIT has specifically stated that they cannot garantee that this is even possible. BUT it was implied that given a large enough order it may be. So some guy setup a website to see if he can meet a goal of 100,000 pledges in hope that MIT will agree.

    hey should only be involved in prosecuting offenders. Also, get rid of that McGruff the Crime Dog crap. The government has no business encouraging the use of doorlocks or rape whistles. The government isn't in the business of preventing crime
    Funny, don't know if you are trolling or not.
    But yes I agree the government should be helping women install clamps onto each and every mans genitals who consentually engage in a relationship with them, so that later the woman or other women can use those clamps in case of rape. My point is that the government has defined copyright as a balance of fair use and the right to protection fir a limited time. DRM abuses access priviliages you have to give for this relationship and procedes to scew the relationship for all future visits.

    Good point for the most part I agree with the general do without idea. There are a few exception I think that should be pointed out.
    1. Government should not be involved in encouraging and helping DRM.
    2. One could make the argument that company in a monopolistic position such as microsoft shouldn't be activly pushing DRM (of course I'm not talking about their own protection from piracy of their own content, more the concern of them creating a platform for easy restrictions of your rights when the average user simply doesn't have a choice of operating systems)

    Umm most do.. well of course that isn't their primary lobby but its certainly a theme. The important thing is that their telecommuters will now be bringing home money, this will mean that they don't have to provide the next round of payraises..
