They were talking LAN party. Internet connection isn't the point. Within a LAN, be it a gaming LAN or office network LAN. I've never seen a reason to sacrifice overall network speed for desktop users for wireless. (Aside from the cost savings of not running hardlines to every office)
Umm are you really that much of a moron? Or do you just play one on TV. Vaccinations don't allow you to track a person. Its not the threat of forably being injected that is the problem.. Though many people do object to mandatory vacinations. Its a completly different issue entirly.
Are you serious? Ok if we are talking laptops I'd agree. But for desktops (which the average gaming machine is). Wired is the way to go. Why sacrifice speed for a very small convience.
Wow, about my only bad experience with a small store was when I when I purchased a power supply from them. I asked on a name brand perferably antec they said they only had crap brand X. I needed it ASAP (big stores were quite a drive away and didn't have time to wait for shipment of an order) so I bought it anyways. Of course it fried in about 2 months. Brought it back, they gave me another one free, but still didn't have a decent one. 2 months later it fried again. So I went and bought a good Antec brand and simply chunked the cheap one in the garbage. Told the guy at the store about this and he didn't believe me, insisting that their power supplies were as good....:( (This was one of the early dual processor AMD boards that used regular ATX.. you know what I'm talking about..)
Our industry is one of a few where they want highly talented individuals, but also want a break on price.
Trust me, most industries want a break on price. Its simply one of the few that someone without a degree can outearn someone with a degress based upon talent. Though I'm in the unique position of having a job that would pay me more if I'd get my degree even though they know it wouldn't change anything about my work performace. (I work for a university, they have an attitude about degrees, and yes I'm currently working on one)
I recently moved the users in my domain who need extra security to dekart login. Kinda like smart cards, but cheaper (we really couldn't afford the expense of smart card readers). It works great. I assign a very complicated password to the person that they don't even know. Use the dekart login to enter that password when they use their usb key with a small password. It also supports biometric auth as a third measure, if you have a biometric reader.. I then shread and burn the passwords.
Well the tech like any other should get get small enough it could be a small as a sticker on the tounge. Ihe top of the mouth is sensitive as well and could possible be used instead if nessessary.
Apparently this is being used with the NAVY. Who are already used to having something in their mouth.. Seriously thats what the article in my local paper said..// It actually said NAVY Seals, and was refering to their diving equipment having an additional tongue sensor thingy. But its still funny.
Most likly it was actually someone in the RIAA or MPAA. The Bush administration probably approved it as well. But I doupt the president or his men sit around and think up new copyright law..
I stopped reading your post at Part of what makes the Republican party so scary (besides the wacko puritan crazies that overran it about 25 years ago) is that it boasts a strong party loyalty amongst members of congress in a system that franly doesn't encourage it. Because we know that all parties do and have done this. Yes its a wonderful thing to have the opposite party in congress as the President. But don't pretend any one party is any less stupidly loyal than the other.
Max read or write speeds is about 70MB/s on top of the line drives. This is essentially why for single drives ATA/300 is really overkill but it makes sense in some raid configurations.
Oddly enough the article http://www.gamespot.com/news/6147946.html says "The Xbox 360 operating system shares enough similarities with Windows, he said, so that porting the Windows version of FFXI to the 360 was a fairly quick task. A PS3 version of FFXI, on the other hand, would require redeveloping the game almost from scratch, a process that Tanaka estimated would take two or three years."
Which is virtually the opposite. So why are they annoucing it for the PS3 then saying it could take a few extra years to get on the PS3. A few years time between PC launch and PS3 launch would be death to the PS3 launch. Rather pointless really.
After all, it was just proven that a quantum program doesn't even have to run to come up with an answer.
BTW this is bullshit. What they discovered is that if they set up a computation system that is driven by the quantum physics of a photon, they can block that photon before it enters into the computation, and the computation runs anyways. This is due to the quatum elements of the photon entering the system despite the physical photon being blocked. So it still runs, just its not obvious how.. Anyone who has any knowledge of such things as the double slit experiment knows this to be obviously in sync with current expectations.
The first key (which is HUGE) is shared by a quantum link (a fiber optic cable essentially using quantum entanglement). Then you can remove this link and transmit over the internet with a key changing algorithm.
Imagine if the NES had been released with the light gun as the only controller? I seriously doupt this will be the only controller the system ships with. If it is, yea I agree, it would be a bad move. Luckily we have less then a month to E3 where suppositivly all specs and "surprises" will be announced.. So we shall wait.
And if thats not good enough I understand that you can still hook an old gamecube controller to it.
Mostly agree, but that really depends upon the purpose of the money. Lets say I get a grant from the government to open a research facility. The grants purpose is purly economic development. IE they are interested in new research happening in XY city for the purpose of economic growth. Mandating that research be public domain wouldn't give that grant earner any chance of making money to get off the government tit. While one could make the argument that the government shouldn't be giving out money for this purpose, it certainly does happen.
To be fair, this would be like your advocating for breathaliser locks on all cars when the DMV is just there to give out license and tags. Department of Safty something or other, handles that crap..
Dude, I'm jelous. Anyways our support option is a contracted deal as we are an off-campus research grant with a university. We get that level of support and an additional 2 years at a lower price than consumers get their machines with 1 year support. So I'm not complaining much.
Good point! If they are loading them up with ALL the same stuff as regular dells and are providing no difference on the software side. They are idiots. So really they are pandering them to the gamer wantabe crowd. Maybe Alienware can teach them SOMETHING about software customization.. Who knows.... A sweet app that dell could include would be something that would hybrinate all other apps at game runtime. But you'd not goint to see that anytime soon.
Most people run virus software all the time. They also have a few other programs running all the time. Touting your machines ability to run these programs while playing games is an obvious fit.
Hmm but their corperate support is yummy. You only spend a few minutes on the phone. Then the next morning a tech is there with part in hand to fix your computer!:) But I digress..

Well this is an output (comptuter output to your input) technology. Really no use as a controller.

Sorry I should have said for some external raid enclosures. Obviously these fake the multiple drives as one drive. So in effect we are both right! :)
SATA/300 can transmit 300MB in a second. Based on tomshardware http://www.tomshardware.com/2005/12/21/samsung_add s_capacity_to_fast_and_quiet_t133_series/page9.htm ld s_capacity_to_fast_and_quiet_t133_series/page8.htm l

No! :)
Is that a good enough answer.. Btw an article this morning mentioned that AMD is working on such technology, but its not out yet.
