Sure, and those are some of the reasons to keep it around, and even read it occasionally. But that doesn't keep most of it (even the 10% that wasn't crap to begin with per Sturgeon's Law) from being boring.
There is also the RTSP/RTP/RTCP trio (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Real_Time_Streaming_Protocol) which are application layer (like HTTP, etc), built on UDP instead of TCP
No bravo here, the EME just allows the loading of Content Decryption Modules (CDMs), which are plugins by any other name. In terms of being able to play content on any browser/os you want, this is a retreat from the 00s era of Flash everywhere back to the 90s era of "install this random plugin, please!"
Pfff, whatever. We are still on XP, except for the designers, who need to use the new Catia, but we have been using a lot of docx, etc, since the Office 2007 switchover.
Of course the math/F22 job will pay better, but personally I consider web programmer salary more than "medium-to-ok". My brother is a web app programmer, first in C#, now in Ruby, and I sure would like his salary. Granted I am just an IT tech, but even when I move up to a more sysadmin position (soon, hopefully), I don't expect to match his current range for *quite* some time.
Pluto is planet. Everyone admits it is a dwarf planet, but dwarf is just a modifier. A dwarf human is still a human. So Pluto is a planet, one of 13 currently known in the solar system (though it is thought there may be one hundred or more)
All of the Discovery channels and NatGeo have declined since they where launched. They are not yet as bad as Discovery proper, TLC, or the History Channel, but they are sliding that way.
The environment, especially global warming, are really my top priorities right now. If we continue as we have, in a few decades to a century we will likely be looking at a situation where the current economic troubles look like good times. Aside from that basic premise, the Greens tend towards the socialist side of things, which I happen to agree with most of the time. As far as Dr Stein specifically, checking into things starting with the "I Side With" website, I agreed with her stated policy positions rather more than with Obama's, and much more than with others. I have voted for Greens before (local and national), and even been registered at times.
On the flip side, Obama has broken too many important promises, and generally has had pattern of behavior surprisingly (well, maybe it shouldn't be) like Bush and others I strongly disagree with. Drone strikes, Gitmo, privacy issues, general executive power grabs or holding on to Bush era ones...
I see that at a few places around Seattle lately... I could use more money, sure, but I am not broke, and there is no way I am going to go find an ATM before filling up, nor am I going to start routinely carrying around cash. It is too annoying.
I don't have cash back on my card, but you would have to give me a hell of big discount to keep me from using my card. I don't care about the money, it about cash being a pain in the ass. (not literally, I carry my wallet in my front pocket, like a sane person)

SCTP is the most widely used of those AFAIK

I love Ovaltine!
He is talking about this: http://arstechnica.com/tech-policy/2013/02/why-a-one-room-west-virginia-library-runs-a-20000-cisco-router/
I never hear anything to indicate it came out that fee though.
In truth, nearness to humans is irrelevant. They are sapient, and self-aware. That is enough.
>I cannot think of any research that helps the survival of either Humans or Chimps.
Uh...
No, they *are* nearly human, that is the point. And they are sentient, sapient, and self-aware

It isn't about sad, it about sense, and the IAU's definition doesn't make any, logically or scientifically

I voted for the the Green...much good it did, but there it is.
There is no reason for money to be based on anything tangible, and if you are going to do it, gold is a damnfool thing to use.
Most currencies are government run, oddly enough
RFID is a fucking terrible idea for e-money, credit cards, etc.
