    Police and military units have used bone conducting equipment for quite some time for this particular reason; it doesn't block external sound, it works in noisy environments and it prevents eavesdropping.

    This particular product, however, seems (from the pictures in TFA) to be placed in front of the ears, and would therefore block external sounds. It might meet the two other criterion, though.

    Meanwhile, Norway's government just made it's budget proposal where the music and film industry will be compensated by government funds for their losses due to private/personal copying.

    In the proposal, all forms of personal/private copying of copyrighted will be legalized, including P2P. Also, no further fees on recordable media (such as CD-R and DVD-R) will be introduced.

    You (and grandparent post) make it sound like nerds rule Sony. That's not the case! Sony has some BRILLIANT engineers, no doubt, but the CEOs are still in charge. There's no conflict of interest; if the CEOs see one division loosing big money on some HW invention they will of course kill it. Why wouldn't they?

    Not that it's unbelivable funny, but it's insightful as hell. Most people surf the web every day (or as often as they use the computer) but have NO IDEA what a web browser is, why they should keep it up-to-date or how they could change from one to another.
