They're doing that to create an artificial eclipse of the sun. This, combined with the power plant being disabled, will allow all of the light-fearing monsters to come out and turn the city of Townsville into a dance club. Fortunately, the Powerpuff Girls will save the day by blowing up the disco ball in a hilarious Star Wars parody.
They make you take things not related to your major because that makes you a better person. There is nothing more pathetic than a person who only understands one subject. Look at everyone on Slashdot. If you just want to learn enough to get a job then maybe you should consider a two year technical school like DeVry.

It's rather simple, he could have posted a link to a web page with the link on it or he could have posted the direct link. Either way, everyone is going to follow the link. Either way the ftp server gets slashdotted. It doesn't really make any difference.
I wasn't arguing against the previous poster, I was merely asking him to present arguments with actual substance. I am personally inclined to oppose restrictions on freedom. But I want to hear actual discussion of the issue. I want to see people who favor a certain restriction to present the specifics of their proposal and to provide arguments in favor of it. Then those who are opposed to the proposal present arguments against the proposal. The debate goes back and forth until both sides have exhausted their arguments (often it goes on longer). This is how debate should work and how things should be settled. Everyone should read the arguments of both sides to decide who they support. Certainly people do not always read all of the information that is available, but we should at least try to make it possible for one to do so.
Arguing against nothing serves no purpose. Wait until specific proposals are made and then show why they are invalid. But make sure that you fully understand the proposal before you attack it. Calm and rational arguments are far more effective than emotional ones.
This is nothing but empty rhetoric. While empty rhetoric is enough to get you modded up to +5, it is not enough to convince anyone who disagrees with you. I am not saying that you are wrong just that you need to back up your claims. Be specific. Look at each proposed limitation on freedom and clearly explain why it won't work.
XFS has journalling and access control lists. The trouble is that standard utilities (tar et al) won't store ACLs. It is possible to back them up with xfsdump though.
You can also get an iso containing a modified Redhat 7.1 installer that will create XFS partitions.
I believe there are a couple of kernel patches that add support for ACLs.
Actually, hybris is just as correct as hubris. It's a Greek word and the first vowel is the letter upsilon. Upsilon corresponds with the letter y and is always transliterated as a y even though it's not pronounced anything like the way the modern English y is pronounced. The spelling "hubris" more accurately reflects the Greek pronunciation (but not exactly), but it is a non-standard transliteration (in English). My guess is that in Danish, which appears to be the native language of the poster you flamed, "hybris" is the standard spelling.
Consider the case where you might need a wrench or a screw driver. You can take up enough material to make one but not both. Just make the one that you end up needing (and hope that you don't end up needing both). If you could recycle the wrench and make the screwdriver out of it then you would have the ideal solution (you'd be screwed if you needed both at the same time though).
Also, frankly, vanity domains aren't extremely essential for business on the net. People get their URLs from friends and search engines and price bots, and in my experience nearly never go to "books.com" or "plumbing.com" to see what's there.
It's all for the sake of marketing. Something short and simple is going to be more effective in terms of branding and such.
Depending on what TV card you have you should be able to get it working with the BTTV driver or GATOS. I absolutely despise the drivers and program that come with ATI's TV cards. Often, for no apparent reason, the program would refuse to acknowledge the existence of the TV in. The composite video in would work and I would get a nice blue screen from that, but no actual TV until I rebooted and tried again.
One story I heard when I was in high school was that some years back some moron decided to steal some elemental sodium. Of course, he burnt himself pretty badly and got in serious trouble. I don't have any confirmation of this story, so it may not be true.
Virus is Latin. It means poison or slime. The plural does not exist in any known Latin works. I'm not sure how people started to think that the plural was virii. That's just plain bad Latin. Some people, thinking that because it has a masculine ending think the plural is viri. That's wrong because it isn't masculine, it's neuter. So, upon hearing this, other people thought it was a third declension neuter noun which would make virora it's plural. Nope, wrong again. It's actually an irregular second declension neuter noun. One of the most consistent rules in Latin (and most of the rules in Latin are pretty consistent) is that all neuter nouns end in -a in the nominative, vocative, and accusative plural. Since virus is in the second declension, the stem is vir- and so the plural is vira.
All of this probably sounds very complicated if you don't know Latin or another inflected language but it actually isn't that hard. There are just a lot of fancy names for things.
I am usually in favor of using Latin plurals for Latin words (and Greek plurals for Greek words, and Italian plurals for Italian words, and German plurals for German words, and so on), but in this case, by pluralizing it correctly you risk confusing too many people. Just use viruses. However, if you are translating an English document that contains the word "viruses" (I can't imagine why you would do that though), translate it as "vira".
The best chemistry demonstration I've seen was at the end of the year in AP chemistry. My teacher put magnesium filings in between two slabs of dry ice and lit them. So the magnesium was burning in carbon dioxide rather than oxygen. This produced an *extremely* bright light that lasted quite a while (much longer than magnesium in oxygen any way). After it was done we played with the dry ice (not many people were there since most of the people in the class were seniors and had graduation rehearsal that day).
I also remember another demonstration in which he blew the lid of a can. I can't remember what he did then though.
Great teacher, if it weren't for his preparation I wouldn't have been able to get a 5 on the AP Chemistry test.

Email is French for enamel if I remember correctly. I believe the first e should have an acute accent though. The plural is emaux.

Don't mention that trash ever again.
Does Napster even have the volume of users it needs any more? Certainly almost everyone has gone to other services by now.
