  1. Rotaries are quieter? on Mazda Stops Production of the Last Rotary Engine Powered Car · · Score: 1

Thank goodness! I can finally doff my ear plugs and ear muffs any time I'm around one. Good indeed to learn that they are quieter. That is certainly a relief. I guess those mufflers that took up a whole side pod on the GTP cars was completely unnecessary!

  2. Re:One of 'us' on Drone Kills Top Al Qaeda Figure · · Score: 1

Two hundred years ago, the young U. S. was fighting sea pirates. To my knowledge, the U. S. did not determine which countries all the pirates were from and declare war on those countries (at least during the first years). They just reasoned who were the bad guys and sunk their ships.

Today, it might be argued that the U. S. is fighting African-Embassy/discotheque/shoe/airplane pirates and sometimes sea pirates. How does one declare war against a convoy of cars? Or a training camp?

There might be precedent for chasing after bad guys (of course it is more simple when it is on the high seas), and if an American is hanging out with the bad guys, he gets hurt.

Can today's drone wars be compared to the classic pirate days? No answer here, but there might be a slight resemblance.

Thank you. It makes some sense to park a laptop in the sun to top off the battery, but heavy charging should be done from cells on the roof of your home or automobile. Then take the laptop to the shade where it makes sense to use it. I am all for an epaper option for those times when you want to read text in the sunshine, but then a solar-powered tablet-ereader would seem more plausible to manufacture and use.
