    The article says that the match between Kasparov and Deep Blue was biased towards Deep Blue. They try to level the playing field by giving the human the source code to the programs.

    http://NewDealInc.com/ is an Operating System (DOS overlay) and Office Suite that runs on a 286 with 4MB of RAM. it runs amazingly well on a 486 66Mhz. The OS comes looks like win95 and has a bunch of small utils. the Office package comes with word processor, spreadsheet, and web browser. It is fast and easy to use. They have even worked-out a deal to distribute the software with non-profit computer refurbishment orginizations.

    Present html clients have existed for several years now, but people still haven't upgraded to the latest and greatest (for whatever reason).

    Why haven't they upgraded? There is no need to upgrade. Going from Netscape 4.7* to 6 gives you what? Bloat, a bigger, slower, & less usable interface. <rant> I personally can't find a browser I like. IE dosen't render html properly & dosen't work under linux (without wine). Netscape & Mozilla are too slow. Lynx dosen't do graphics. and I don't want all of Koffice just to browse </rant>

    My dad works for Unisys, for the most part they just release new operating systems. But, they are coming out with a server that uses 32 pentium chips.es7000. They used intel chips so it will run win2000. Sick isn't it?

    The Net generation favors a new kind of superhero. Neo (Matrix), Vincent Freeman (Gattaca), and for that matter, the Skywalker gang, none of whom are muscle-heads. They're more likely to use low-tech forms of combat, like martial arts and quick wits. Unlike the massive, thick-necked behemoths above, they're slight and vulnerable, neurotic and brooding.

    I have always noticed that there has always been a subculture that upheld the values of a simpler hero over the ideal warrior. I just find it easier to relate to and more believable.

    As far as I can tell there are two parts, (i) A set of compatable programmes to use the documents and (ii) some sort of programme that runs all the time to watch access over the special files to make sure you are not accessing them without permission.

    So, just disable the second programme or move the file to a system without the second programme.

    You've obviously never watched Bob Ross. That guy can churn out a masterpiece in 30 minutes.

    Man, I love watching that guy. Although he did have a little preperation, he did most of his work in about 30 mins.
    Next we'll paint a happy little bush...there now he can be with his happy tree friends...
