One way to do that was by searching for ICQ numbers with outdated hotmailaccounts as primary emailaddress. You would then register the emailaddress again and let ICQ email the password.

You also had programs which were sent to unsuspected users as personal photo's, disguised as an image name with a lot of spaces after that. The user would click to open it and run the program, thus sending his personal info.

This is ridiculous, AIDS is a major problem on the southern African continent where sometimes one quarter of the population is infected with HIV and will eventually die. Many countries with high infection percentages are countries which are fairly stable and have absolutely no foodsupply problem like Tanzania, Kenia, Zambia and South Africa. A more unstable country like Uganda is fairly succesful in fighting the AIDS problem because of the higher awareness among the population. It has nothing to do with counting deaths from other diseases and i'm very curious where you got your information from. Please give some more ground for your theory that AIDS is a non-existant problem.

My English is not prefect but that didnt stop em from sending this email to Reuters:

I am very disturbed and worried by the tone of the article at http://www.reuters.com/newsArticle.jhtml?type=musi cNews&storyID=5696029, written by Emmanuel Legrand and Nigel Hunter.

The article, about copyright protection, displays the view that works which are falling under copyright should be protected longer than the 50 years which is common for decades. It is argumented that the owners of the works will lose lots of money because the works will enter the public domain.

The article is clearly written from the copyright holders view. In my opinion fifty years of making profit from works of art is certainly _long_ enough to earn money with it. At some point works should become part of the public domain, especially when the artist already died! Those works should benefit mankind after a resonable time, not a individual or big business indefinitly.

I hope I'll see more independent and more balanced articles in the future.

    Kind regards,

Although the thought of being immortal is pretty attractive, problems will skyrocket when this really is possible. Already Western countries are struggling with their aging populations while people want to stop working earlier and earlier. People should realize that at some point life has to end and that it comes with a certain cost (worklife). I think this will be one of the major issues in this century.

In a way its healthy for our population when individuals don't live too long.

I disagree with you: China is a large country in change, already the economical and political system is opening up, it's a matter of time before the Chinese middle class calls for more luxury rights like freedom when haveing enough food is not a daily problem anymore. Give them a couple of decades, maybe centuries and you'll see that it's the normal way of developing democracies (lots of examples in Europe, sout America).

No, the original poster was right. Since when have humans had a death wish? I mean think about it: no matter which "side" you're on, you want to live longer than the next guy on the "other side." This is true even more so in the more devastating, ugly war zones in the world TODAY. Both sides want to live, one wins and lives another day, the other dies.

Look at Japan in 1945, or Palestina/Israel or look at the Twin Towers at 9/11 and you should realise you're plain wrong.
