One of the major reasons the US is rich is because the rest of the world has been using US dollars they receive to buy and sell oil instead of using them to buy US goods and services. It's like if I write a cheque to pay my landlord, who doesn't cash it, but uses it to pay his mortgage, and the bank uses it to pay their employees, and so on, without anyone ever cashing it. The wealth of the US comes at the rest of the worlds expense, for the most part, and they stablize and extend the system with their war machine.

I live and work in downtown Tokyo and DoCoMo performance has gone down the drain *significantly* in the last few weeks. 3 times in January alone the service completely stopped for 3-4 hours, as in, no data signal, only voice. This is true for all DoCoMo users. I would guess that a few thousand users per cell tower out in the sticks is not a good indication of network reliability for say Shibuya-ku or Minato-ku where you can have a million customers crammed in a few square kilometers.
the original 2007 iPhone 4 held up well until iOS 4 in 2010, and is still faster on its pared-back iOS 4 than some other non-Apple smartphones I've seen.

That is why I don't allow forwarding of email to anything other than from group mail lists to individual corporate accounts on my network. This, in itself, is a massive security breach.
