An iPod Touch, with almost the same feature set as the iPhone, without the stupid Phone part, at a much cheaper price. Tough choice there... Feel sorry for the people who actually bought the iPhone now:/
Not so much cheaper. The iPhone 8Gig is now just $399. The 4Gig is $299 while supplies last.
I went to a technical high school where we had to declare a major and would concentrate our study on that area for our last 3 years. My major was commercial art. When I got to college, I wasn't required to continue in that area, but I did.
So of course now my career is in computer programming.

It is being designed as an alternative to the BMW 5 Series, with an estimated price of $50,000-70,000. [1] WhiteStar is to be built in a new plant in New Mexico. [edit]Future models Future plans include a more affordable third model. The development and production of this future model, codenamed "BlueStar", will be funded by profits from the WhiteStar sedan. "According to Net Applications, in June Windows Vista accounted for 4.52% of all systems that browsed the Web, up from January's 0.18%. Vista has grown its usage share each month since its release to consumers Jan. 30, hitting 0.93% in February, 2.04% in March, 3.02% in April and 3.74% in May. Apple Inc.'s Mac OS X, meanwhile, accounted for 6.22% in January and hit its high point of 6.46% in May, but it slipped back to 6% in June. If Vista's uptake trend continues, it should pass Mac OS X in Web usage share by the end of August."
Are we to believe all these Vista installs are simply not browsing the web?
"The fact that this particular security vulnerability exists does not mean that OS X is just as much a wide-open target as Windows is."
Correct! But it DOES mean that Mac market share is now on par with Windows, because we've heard for so long that if the Mac had market share like Windows does then it would have viruses too.
iPhone and iPod Touch both have wireless technology built-in.
Not saying they are now Skype phones, mind you.
I'd recognize that hat anywhere!
You can get 2 with wireless.

No proximity sensor.
No auto-rotate.
And if you don't speak Apple, I'll translate:
None of the stuff that made people want to buy an iPhone.
Screw whoever modded my above post a troll.
No multi-touch.
No finger flip.
No iTunes compatibility.
No coverflow.
No Safari.
And, oh yeah, it's vaporware.
"just look for previous articles that cover the same technology."
In many cases, it's a dupe of the current article.
So easy to do, so why doesn't /. provide these links as a matter of course?e -completion/

Yup, doesn't crash IE 5.2.3 for Mac OS X.
"dry glue" effect that enables a gecko to walk across a ceiling.

Silly Apple, fixing the problems. Don't they know this leaves them open for taunting.
Knee-jerk PC fanboi: "Oh, I guess Apple isn't so secure after all, huh?"
Mac-fanboi: "Umm, they fixed a problem with some 3rd-party software before it became an issue."
Knee-jerk PC fanboi: "Yeah, old Apple finally getting some of what Windows gets."
Mac-fanboi: "No, they proactively fixed the problem"
Knee-jerk PC fanboi: "Yep, might as well just use Windows"
Mac-fanboi: "You do that, then."
My post was more to show that Jay Leno isn't the only one who will afford these cars.

Don't click if you have an iPhone!
You mean "what Microsoft might innovate!"
Now how will Linux ever be taken seriously for business use if MS isn't behind it?
