I like the idea of XML but I can't find one good source of all the XML data lists.
SOMEONE FOR THE LOVE OF GOD give me a list of XML sites so I can actually finish my app that uses it (hence the "it's still beta" in my sig for about 2 years now)
I have a great idea. You can transport your files from one computer to another. i think i'll call it... WAIT! It's been done! it's called A fucking disk!
if you want to be tech wiz, you could even buy a USB memory card. WOOO!
I know i'm late on this post, but I wrote a program that lets Win98+ have a live background w/webcams. I have some great cams listed too. Pretty nice to checkout if you have the time.
A business that supports thousands of people should have more access to a politician than you. A politician does not have infinite time. So... A company (or entity with money) that represents you can speak for you and the thousands below it.
If something by Microsoft is going to kill X idea, then a company or smaller companies that support that idea should also speak to the politicians.
This is how it works. I'm sorry, you do not count as much as an entity representing thousands of people.
I'm using windows because I'm lazy and I have money (read: American).
I turn the computer on, it works. I can watch videos in any format I wish, MSNBC is practically the only place that does free news that I've found.
I know you can get X-pluging with Y-player for linux, but this works easily and NOW.
Also, contrary to popular belief, windowsXP is stable as hell. More stable than any linux box i've owned. I help run an IT dept. here with about 40+ win2k and XP boxes and NEVER seen the OS crash. I've seen netscape crash plenty of times.
It's such a shame. And "Cold As Ice" was Vanilla Ice's launch pad into film. Shame he didn't write "8-mile" for Eminem, otherwise i think he'll just end-up another washed-up white rapper.
I had no features added to my land line and made VERY FEW long distance calls. Either way my bill came out to around 30+ bucks. No caller ID, No Call Waiting, Nothing.
So... I decided to switch to a Cell Phone. It's only 42 bucks WITH TAX. The key is WITH TAX. With nights & weekends I'm always on the phone at night & costs nothing.
The point of my story:
Land lines are going to die!.
I have no desire to ever have a land line. Right now it's just cablemodem & Cell phone. That's all I need. I don't even have a dial-up.

Granted, this is slightly off topic but worthy.
If multiple AGP is availiable for 8x then it's probably the greatest improvement possible. I ran 2 monitors at work, then got hooked. Now it's almost impossible for me to use 1 monitor. The problem is that you can't get multiple agps as of now so you have to use a crappy pci card.
This will also be awesome for gaming! I can't wait until I can get a dual agp card. I bet if they start making dual agp mobos then dual monitors will become very common.

I don't see a problem here. Plants aren't that big, and i'm sure humans are worth more in fuel than a few plants.

My server logs report roughly 83% of box's going to my site are windows machines that follow my sig off of slashdot.
%5 or so are Macs.
Although, slashdot does return about 90% of the 4% netscape users.

Here's some neat facts. No real solution though. Reply with one if you have it...
Ram = Fast
Cache = faster ram
On Board Cache = faster
1. Processors used to not have a quick way to get to ram so cache was created (faster and expensive ram) and put on a chip.
2. Cache proved to be too expensive so they put it off the chips (pII)'s. Celereon's even took off some of the Cache.
3. Now that ram drives will be created, it's just another link in the chain to the HD.
now it'll be:
HD->Ramdrive->Ram->off chip cache->onboard cache
Each one of those levels cost more as you move to the right. This just puts another link in the chain.
