Take some time to read the inittab (5) man page and you'll learn that you can specify exactly what a Linux system does when it receives a CTRL-ALD-DEL.
Talk to your VoIP administrator. There should be an option to turn on sidetone and maybe even an option for "comfort noise" so the phone doesn't sound too quiet when no one is speaking.
Maybe Linux vendors could spend more time addressing these issues if they didn't have to spend so much of their efforts reverse-engineering MS "protocols" to make Linux attractive in enterprise environments?
This is like breaking up the Bell sys^H^H^H monopoly, but allowing them to keep the details of how to make connect a telephone under NDA.
I don't see what the big difference is between paying Blockbuster $4.95 for a limited time rental and purchasing a limited life time disc for about the same $$$... Oh, except I have to return the disc to Blockbuster or face late fees. Why exactly is this so bad?
Also, imagine a day when you can walk into the Blockbuster and instead of seeing miles and miles of movies taking up valueable space, you can pick out the movie you want from a kiosk, with access to more movies than you could squeeze into acres of Blockbusters, and a DVD-R burns it for ya with the time limited coating... That makes sense to me.
Wouldn't it be nice if these wireless networks became ubiquitous enough that you could use IP telephony software on a handheld as a replacement for cell phones... No roaming and 1440 anytime minutes / day ; )
Press-and-hold, click the "X", uninstalled!
"Incidentally, the most common reason for me to need the textual menus is to unclose a tab."
<shift><ctrl><t> is your friend.

But then, how is Sun supposed to ask stupid questions such as if I'd like to install the Google toolbar.
Since apparently Sun believes I'm totally incapable of finding the Google toolbar for myself.
What an insult.
Why, in 2004, is it necessary to restart Windows XP after installing WMP 10? Rebooting is so '90s.
We all remember how well that one flew...
Best phrase I've read all week... Oh, yeah, it's only Monday! This one will probably hold me over 'till Friday, though. ;-)
I bet it had more to do with ensuring their profit margin.
Actually, since X Windows is at version X11 R6, this will be the at least the 18th time...
From left to right, what order do you see the keys in?

How is it there is an article about a homebrew N.O.C. that doesn't mention Nagios?

Woah, someone who hasn't heard of Fark?!? It's not news... It's FARK!
Damn it, why don't I ever have mod points when I need 'em... That's funny!
Look here and here.
Probably has something to do with the now common practice of embalming.
Hence the phrase, "saved by the bell"
As processor's catch up with space heaters, I doubt they'll be as likely to be air cooled.
P-ATA connectors are keyed. There is a mechanism called "cable select" that essentially auto-configures IDE chains.
SCSI is a bus, IDE is a bus. Usually busses (as found in PC's) don't make noise or heat.
There is no reason a cool quiet IDE drive couldn't also be sold with SCSI interface electronics.
Hell, Windows Update is one of the few things that should probably be ON by default!

What, does the case spray water on the noise?
People always get these two terms confused... Noise and vibration are damped, not dampened.
