Humans are way more energy efficient than cars. Assuming a human could run at 60mph, and assuming gasoline could be comsumed rather than food:

1 gallon of gasoline contains 33000 kCal (calories).
A human burns 0.653 kCal (calories) per mile per pound of body weight.
    Assume a 200 pound man.

    200 * .653 * 60 = 7836 kCal (calories). This is about 23.75% of a gallon. About 252.68 miles/gallon.

It isn't as cut and dry as that. If a woman isn't ready for motherhood then there is a good possibility she will not be a good mother. Then you have a child raised poorly which hurts soceity as a whole. Another situation is that there isn't enough money availible from the mother/father to raise a child. This results in a drain on the welfare system; basically making the taxpayers responsible for the child. It isn't a perfect world. In such a world abortion would never happen. My point is simply that just because a group of people disagrees with the practice it makes it no more of a wrong choice for others. If everyone would mind their own business more often there would be a lot less conflict in the world.

I also find it interesting that I was moderated as flamebait for offering an opinion different from the original poster's. People are way too unaccepting of alternative ideas.

As inflamitory as the following may be to you, you post is equally inflamitory to me. In my viewpoint pregnancy is a medical condition, and a cureable one at that. It should not matter if that cure is morally offensive to you or I as we are not the one making the decission. Morals are a personal thing and I don't believe they should be forced upon others. You may want to compare it to murder, but in my mind I can see a difference. If you are morally objectional to abortion, please don't have one, but please do not try to make that decission for everyone.

    Ok.. I'm going to bite.

    From Wikipedia:

Impeachment is the process by which a legislative body formally levels charges against a high official of government. Impeachment does not necessarily mean removal from office; it comprises only a formal statement of charges, akin to an indictment in criminal law, and thus is only the first step towards possible removal. Once an individual is impeached, he or she must then face the possibility of conviction via legislative vote, which then entails the removal of the individual from office.

    Washington D.C. criminal codes:

22-201. Adultery Definition and penalty. Whoever commits adultery in the District shall, on conviction thereof, be punished by a fine not exceeding $500, or by imprisonment not exceeding 180 days, or both; and when the act is committed between a married person and a person who is unmarried both parties to such act shall be deemed guilty of adultery.

The President was indicted for a crime... seems only right to me.

I might be treading into the realm of flaimbait here, but I will proceed anyway. The reporter for this story found out about the miscount somehow and my bet is that it was a Democrat that tipped him off. Had it been a miscount in Kerry's favor a Democrat wouldn't tip a reporter off and, at least in my experience, neither would a Republican. A republican would have nothing to gain, their candidate already won. On the total reversal, if Kerry had won, a Replublican STILL wouldn't have tipped a reporter off.. at least in my opinion. This is simply because, as Democrat friends of mine have said, "Democrats are whiners.".

    YMMV and all that jazz.
