    Pardon me if this is a little off-topic, but does anyone know if the Nook drops back to Edge if 3G coverage is unavailable? If not, then the Nook drops off my wishlist, as AT&T has no 3G coverage where I live!

    That makes sense. I should note that my video card has the lowest rating on the "Windows Experience Index" scale on my machine as well - 3.2 for Aero and 3.1 for Gaming graphics, while everything else rates significantly higher: Processor = 6.7 (two dual-core Xeons), RAM = 5.5, and Disk = 5.9.

    Another data point - Win 7 Aero runs just fine on my work machine as well - it has an old Nvidia Quadro NVS 285 with 128MB onboard (plus 768MB system memory it uses). It's driving two displays too.

    Just hold control with the desktop selected and scroll the mouse wheel up.. voila! Changable icon sizes (in Vista and 7)

    Cool, I didn't know about this (I scaled my icons DOWN, by the way). Now do you know of a way to make that ridiculously wide window border narrower plz, thx?

    I do the same thing with my iPhone - both with contacts and with my calendar. And it goes both ways - entries I make in my iPhone contacts or calendar appear in my Gmail contacts or Google calendar almost instantly.

    FW800 devices use different connectors than FW400 and thus require adapters, while the USB 3.0 connector will plug into a USB 2.0 port (and run at USB 2.0 speed).

    Some tips: turn off 3G if you aren't using it (if your iPhone supports 3G), turn off Bluetooth if you aren't using it, turn your screen brightness down, use the button at the top to turn the screen off when you aren't using it, etc.

    Or perhaps you just have a bum battery (or your battery is almost worn out). There are battery replacement services that can install a higher capacity battery than the original one, if you want to go that route.

    I was going to run XP in virtual pc instances on the Macbook but it is starting to look like corporate crap sticking out of the corners. I had no idea the iphone would be invisible from the Mac!
