    You know, there something good about the Jet Data Base Engine,(MJDBE), that folks might not have considered. It wakes developers up to other SQL solutions like mySQL. It also cures that syndrome that has to do with betting your pay check on the products you buy/use to develop with. I am a convert, thank you MJDBE; Without it, I would have never discovered Batch Processing, mySQL, Oracle, Portgres, and flat files.

If Microsoft wants to impress the unwashed like ME, do not Lie, Cheat, or Steal; Instead show me a Benjamin Franklin chart of Functionality compared with competing products.

    It will be interesting to casually read about the surfing, and purchasing habits of such notables as President Bush, and Vice President Chaney. What will be even more interesting are the surfing, and purchasing habits of other world leaders, and their "supporters." Of course one might think that their favorite hero would never be caught doing something un-hero like; Guess again, the Paparazzi of the internet now will have access to the very data that the law givers provided to insecure corporations. Of course, there is the fact that once this personal data starts to pile up, that instead of stealing the data, it is purchased. Now, one does not need to tell all the victims of this faceless treachery, customers personal data was not stolen, it was sold.

    I remember a PBS show about showing how Magnetism an Electricity have the same properties, given a 11+ dimensional universe; The mathematicians involved choked on demonstrating how the same approach could be applied to Gravity. It looks like as "Time" proceeds, Mathematics is collecting more tools to refine our understanding of the universe.

    I have, it caused me to become a better communicator to others who had not yet learned the ways of their product. The documentation can be wrong, the product may not work, and never underestimate the power of semantics for being an excellent confusion generator. Since my tenure as a customer service person, I have learned the value of walking a client through the product to do what the client wanted. I have since then learned to understand that all software, or hardware is not without fault. And that it is easier to change my software than for some faceless corporation; Much to the embarrassment of said faceless corporation.

One should notice that Microsoft's "Software Agreement" says you can not sue them for their negligence, but not the other way around. Mircrosoft may be many things, but foolish is not on that list.

    Absurd? Inconsistent with reason or logic or common sense. Maybe your reasoning, given the subject involved, can not fathom this line of mechanics. Be patient, the speed of neural processing using electronics is more than sufficient to be used for brain simulation. The mechanics of sensors have been around for decades; Also, the mechanics of Torque have been around for thousands of years. All we need now is a 4 Peta Byte hard drive which would be more than enough to hold the thoughts, and history of a single person. 1 Peta Byte drives should be for sale at Fry's in about 15 years. Of course, somebody is going to have to do the software, maybe using Open Source? I can only hope. Oh ya, the next thing to build will be an interface so that I can backup my brain; This will be very handy for things like remembering my wife's birthday.

    XLG? I have been beginning to think that the graphics component to presenting information has been like the unwanted child. It would be nice to see a more graphical solution to the Desk Top Manager. I just had this vision of the movie, "A Night At The Museum" for a design solution; Now THAT would be a Desk Top Manager. I just wish I knew how to make a desk top manager like that!

    What a compelling thought, Law Enforcement Staff having to live by the laws they have to enforce. Even more compelling is the explanation used by Law Enforcement Staff, "We know how to break the law without hurting people, or damaging property." Which would make a lot of sense, except for the fact that Law Enforcement Staff make mistakes; All the time. But compare the righteousness of Law Enforcement Staff rationalizations to a child listening; Because, when a child is listening, the child is learning. I would be very surprised if a child had a more worldly view of the universe, than an adult. The problem I see is that a child sees an adult giving an excuse for acceptability of doing something wrong, and not getting time out for it.

    The designs for Robots of various types, and uses have been around for years. Hollywood is by no means a bastion of creativity. But the main problem that seems to be overlooked by most Wanna-Be Robot Inventors is the POWER SUPPLY. I would think that the DARPA folks would first want do some fundamental research, and solve the problem that is the choke point for all Robotics projects.

    I fully realize that communication up the line, is just as important as coming home. But I would think that a Bad-Guy/Gal in a spider hole with an RPG would be more intriguing.

    I do not think that being over burdened with work is an acceptable reason for granting any patent. As for the "One Click" patent, who ever granted that one should be fired for cause. That decision actually did cause damage to internet commerce, on a global scale. As for the concept of "Software Patents". Software was always litigated using copy write law.

    Given that Gravity affects an object's momentum, in this solar system, and was used for acceleration by the Pioneer craft. Would not a simple calculation of finding how much gravity would be needed to cause the "drift"? Then the question could be asked, "What combination of bodies in the known space would cause this?"
